Having lost both of my own children (daughter died at birth, and her big brother died in an accident as a young adult), I have the deepest sympathy and empathy for the parents and family of the little girl. Nothing in the world is as terrible as losing a child, absolutely nothing.

Precisely why I chose to stay home back in the 80's even though it meant being dirt poor so I could watch my children at least until they were school age. Nowadays, you even have to worry about them at school with all the gun violence going on. Times sure have changed. My heartfelt condolences to the family of that little girl. Such heartbreak.

    • @tacknup

Same. My son was born in 1994, and I never left him in the care of anyone, I was so paranoid and trusted no one with such a precious little one. The one time I did allow my MIL to watch him, he was about 10 months old, she gave him milk after I had specifically told her I was still breastfeeding and he only got water. She said "Oh it won't hurt him. I gave all my kids milk when they were babies". The nerve of someone to go against what you want or don't want for your child! That just made it worse. Never left him with anyone again!

@kmo3811 I did the same back in the early 80s. I was a ‘housewife’ (that’s what they used to call moms who didn’t work) we barely made ends meet but I raised our children; when the youngest went to kindergarten I got a job at the school where my children attended. They are kind responsible adults now with families of their own. Sweet Jesus my heart breaks for this mother, the child and their family. We trusted no one that’s why we sacrificed so I could stay home with them. I know times are different now-this is heart wrenching 💔no one should have to live this nightmare, rest in peace sweet precious angel, 👼and may your family find the strength to get through this tragedy that never should have happened 🤍🕊️

I work in a Police Dept and one day we received a frantic call from a nearby day care center saying that they couldn’t find a toddler who was dropped off a few hours prior (not to mention the day care is on a very busy street). Luckily we found the toddler; she had wondered into someone’s backyard and was sitting in the grass crying she was u harmed but frightened. Good ending to that day, unfortunately there are many other slip ups in day care. It’s truly heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹

It is not 'how a small child could fall into harm's way!' It is how can a small child NOT be missed by daycare workers - all day long. And her absence not discovered until the mother came to pick her up.
There are rules about daycare - a worker must not be in charge of more than six children and she must know where they are at ALL TIMES!

yes! and depending on the ages the numbers differ between adults and number checks should be happening every 5-10 minutes AT LEAST. How did this child even get out?! everything should be secured and child proofed at a daycare for this exact reason. So sad, may the little baby rest in peace♥️

‼️I know. That poor family. I can't imagine the pain they're going through. Something isn't adding up on the daycares side. They SPECIFICALLY said the little girl was found BESIDE the well? So she wasnt IN the well. So how did she die then? I'm assuming she drowned. But that doesn't make sense if she was found BESIDE the well. I wonder if a daycare worker was trying to punish her and went too far then just pretended like they hadn't noticed her missing all day. Idk something is fishy about this. Its possible she was trying to climb the well then fell and hit her head or something. No matter what happened that daycare needs to be closed and whatever people were supposed to be watching the girl charged to fullest extent of the law.

The children outside so is like a holiday, all the parents and moms and dads knew each other as they asked me can you keep an eye on them house full house.bTwenty-One children I was looking after and we do all sorts of things together but the most important thing was making sure that every 10 minutes head count all stand in the line and make sure the all together especially if we're going out for a walk or something like that from nine months to 11 yes old. I cannot understand how you can lose a child from the last play time you go to make sure all children are accounted for. You just mentally make sure everyone is there all the time. Continuously, never stopping. Don’t see Peter for 2 min, you should notice. Where’s Peter? The kids will tell you he’s kneeling behind the bookcase. The kids actually are very observant. Those were 4 years olds though, a bit older than toddlers.

He couldn't find a single staff person. He eventually found them all sitting in a break room having coffee and eats. He refused to leave his child, and reported the daycare. Not one staff greetin arriving kids or supervising incoming kids. Parents left kids not looking for staff. VEry scary.

Jesus. I have a little girl in daycare.
I once found a little boy about 2 years old wandering in a side street just next to a busy road, he was wondering towards it. We checked every house on the street to see where this child came from. Eventually a lady smoking a cigarette came out and collected the boy and scolded him for leaving the yard. The lady was running a foster home with at least a few kids and clearly did not give a crap about any of them. I hope that little boy and his companions have good lives after escaping such a messed up system.
