Hey Johnny, that’s pretty cool about your Dad managing the bowling alley at the mall, I used to go there quite often after work back in the late 80’s - thanks for the memory!
Your videos are becoming a part of my night routine lol.. It feels like I'm the one who's walking those streets and speaking to myself in a male's voice :d
Hi Johnny ,you brought back good memories. I use to go to Kent public school. Always frequented the Dufferin Mall. This is where,I heard my first Beatles song. I love this neighborhood. We lived on Gladstone Ave. After 5 years in this neighborhood, my family moved to the Yonge and Eglinton area. After 10 yrs living on Craighurst Ave. My parents were living their for about 20 yrs. I move east. Great video, Johnny.
20 years later Dufferin Mall is still the same, a few new shops and may be some updates on the ceilings but overall it is still the same..Remember finishing my night shift and going to McDonalds for early breakfast, then to the mall to buy some...
There was a racetrack on the property where the Dufferin Mall now is. One of the apartment buildings on Havelock Street (near College) was connected in some way to the race track - I think it was a hotel before it was divided into apartments.
Yea johnny lived in that area the first 30 yrs or so of my life.Street off dufferin between bloor and Dupont. Went to Pauline, Kent and Bloor collegiate . Think Dufferin Mall was a strip mall at one time, also went to the Galleria Mall at Dupont and Dufferin. Remember walking over the railway bridge at the end of Wallace over to Dundas i believe. Dont remember the race track but remember my Dad listening to the radio to see how his bets did, had the parade to the post trumpets before they announced them lol. so thanks for the video.
A lot of good memories. I remember back in the 70's and 80's. Dufferin mall was the only mall that opens until 9 pm on Saturdays. I haven't been in this mall in 30 years. I missed the good old days 😪😔.
Nice lay back video Johnny. Just strolling along community neighborhoods, on a care free day. Your tour of the Mall was the funniest. Loved your ending in your chariot.
This was s nice walk! The park looks like a great place to walk with the dog😃some of the clouds was pretty ”scary”! But i love thunder and rain! Thank’s for the tour! TC! 🖐
Enjoyed the walk! I haven't been in the mall since before covid. Doesn't look like much has changed in the last few years. Never been in that park. Nice to see there is still relaxing places in the middle of the city! Thanks again!
I use to live in this area for 3 years. And took Ossington stn every day. Love to go Dufferin park.I also miss bell trinity park. I hope you can make one
Great Walk, I have never actually been through Dufferin Grove Park. I watched this video with a friend and before you mentioned the bowling ally, we looked at eachother and remembered it, and that is was downstairs where Dollarama is now. Yes, that KFC/Taco Bell location was previously a Pizza Hut. It was a full sit down restaurant that even featured an all-you-can-eat buffet weekdays at lunch. I know that you have visted the side of 3 former race tracks (Greenwood, Dufferin Park and Thorncliff Park) but not sure if you have visited the site of the former Long Branch race track in Etobicoke. Sorry again for the long winded comment, I just have a little passion about historic places in Toronto that no longer stand or that have changed over the years.
Dufferin mall is almost equivalent to the biggest malls in small cities. It’s not that famous but it has everything it should have. The junction area used to be very messed-up but now it becomes one of the best areas in GTA. In downtown Toronto, dufferin mall in the west is same as the Gerrard center in the east. If the city government could spend some money, dufferin mall could become the second Eaton center in the downtown but the walmart had to be removed
Hi Johnny . It was interesting to see Dufferin Mall . I've only been there once to get something at Walmart . Never really had any desire to go back . Hard to believe the TOYS R US store is still open . ps. Winners owns Marshall's . Mark (Toronto) 💙

There did used to be a Pizza Hut on Dufferin with the KFC and Taco Bell. I remember going there once on a visit to Toronto.
I believe that the current location of Marshalls was originally an Eaton's store before the entire enterprise went belly up.

Unbelievable, this region looks the same, like 14 years ago.
My dude. You could have been at Sherway Gardens. Bless you for doing these vlogs.
You are correct in that the KFC and Taco Bell used to have Pizza Hut there as well. I worked there in the early 2000s.

Hi from Vancouver island. Thanks for the walk around Toronto.
Just wondering if you discovered the mysterious ruins lying in Dufferin Grove Park
I did not...

Spoilers alert, you'll run into a lot of minorities there.
What do you mean?
