Thanks for the video. Used to own the original but switched over to the 70-200/2.8 GM and now GM II when Sony became my main system. Still, I’m considering this again to use on my newer compact C bodies like the A7CII and A7CR. Will have to give it a try. Take care.
Every time I watch your videos I want to go out and buy whatever lens or camera you’re reviewing, knowing it’s not in the budget right now 😂 you make this lens look good with the shots you took. I’m going to have to add it to my list.
@@LeeZavitz I understand. I've just always wanted a 70-200mm to add to my bag so when I came across your review, it made me want it even more. My days of wanting f1.4 or f1.8 are over. f4 isn't too bad to shoot with.
I wish I could make ads for RayBan that would be dope. When you say sun shade for the lens are you talking about lens hood? I rarely use a lens hood. The only time is if I’m shooting events or I’m outside when it’s going to rain.
Awesome stuff!.. very intriguing to consider especially for the price point and that "Macro capability" crazy how they don't put the same "Macro capability" on the 2.8?..you would've thought Sony would have put that on the 2.8 before they would on this F4....it always a give and take with the "F4" even "F2.8" lenses once it starts getting dark..and you have less light to work with..the lens becomes compromised..obviously you are not going to use it as much in low light conditions unless you have some flashes..etc..
Yeah that would be one reason to go with the f2.8 is if you shoot in lower light situations. But also, these new cameras are all so good at higher ISO so Its hard to say if it would be that much of a problem
cant decide between the 2.8 GMii or this one.. i like the low light performance of the 2.8 but the macro capability on the F4.. i have a A74 and shoot portraits and landscape.. what would you recommend? :)
Love your content. The face seems quite smooth in the pics from 10+ feet away. Is this a reflection of the lack of sharpness with the lens or, alternatively, the settings/preset?
Yeah I realized after that I had the wrong title on all of those images taken from the a6700. This is why you don’t work on a video with one eye open at 4am lol
This is slightly more expensive but it’s a way better lens in every way. Also, you will appreciate having a constant f4 aperture as well. Plus if you ever upgrade to Fullframe you are covered
I've never tried it. Ive only tried the Canon RF 70-200mm f2.8. The reality is all these camera brands are making amazing stuff these days. Cant really go wrong with anything.
At this price and size, I wish they made the focal range 50-200 or 70-280, even at the expense of losing the teleconverter compatibility and some macro capabilities, and kept the aperture ring like on all new G lenses.
I never even thought about the aperture ring. You have a point there on that one. I wonder why there isn’t an aperture ring. Almost every new Sony lens has been coming with one
“At this price and size” … what? It’s smaller than the original 70-200, i do not see how you expect to get an extra 20 or 80mm on either side on a smaller sized unit. Aperture ring, yes. However i think the price is almost… fine? I would love to get this and the 2x converter one day
Thank you Lee for the informative and helpful review of the Sony 70-200mm F4 Macro II, Good luck!
I have just purchased this lens for my a7III and it's amazing.. sharp as a tack and fantastic image quality.
Thank you Lee for the enjoyable and informative video on Sony 70-200mm F4 Macro II lens, Good luck on your photography journey!

Images look absolutely stunning! How did you record your camera screen without Atmos Ninja V on it?
bro! I was debating man! And now I'm sold! Thanx for this video truly helped me make a decision!
It’s a really nice lens

Just remember that everything I’m shooting (unless it’s crazy autofocus or high bitrate video) can be shot on older gear from the last 5-6 years

@@LeeZavitz I bought my A9ii the older version , but I'm now so tempted Its the smaller size and wight and that extra macro and converter function !!!
Thank yoy now i will purchase this lens
Great examples with high quality RUclips files
Can you test this at indoor sporting event? Just curious how it works out in that scenario. Thanks
Have you ever use a sun shade for your lens, at least to protect the front glass of filter! Are you making advertiments for Ray Ban sunglasses?

Lovely shots. How do you record your camera screen like that?
Through an app called Monitor+ it’s just wifi from the camera to the app. I could also use the Sony app but I find it less reliable
@@LeeZavitz nice, thanks

If you have the money the GMii. If you don’t have the money get the f4 macro :p
Why most you wearing a sun glass while you're shooting, and must looking over it! Good to have an trusty autofocus system! 😎
It’s easy to see. If it wasn’t I wouldn’t be wearing them
Maybe he’s used to it.

nah it’s crazy sharp. Maybe just my editing

Amazing
Thanks for watching!
I’m not in the Sony ecosystem, but I want this lens.
What do you think using this lens in the new a6700? Should I go for an apsc lens (70-350) or get the new 70-200?
This is slightly more expensive but it’s a way better lens in every way. Also, you will appreciate having a constant f4 aperture as well. Plus if you ever upgrade to Fullframe you are covered
You could save a lot of money and get a used 70-300G full frame. I used that on my a6400 and then upgraded to a full frame as Lee noted.
Video recorder bhi hta h isme ya bs photo please btao koi
Nice short length
i think this is better than RF 70-200mm F4

Lens aside: This model is pretty , but way prettier when smiling.
