- This video explains the process of selection and modification of ground motions for the linear or nonlinear response history analysis of structures. The following three demosntrations are included.
1) The selection and downloading the ground motion data from the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER) ground motion databse.
2) The spectral matching of ground motions using Seismomatch and ETABS
3) Definition of time history load cases in ETABS

Dear Fawad Sir. I am pleased to share that in past i performed site response analysis studies for a offshore reclaimed island site in seismically active region for a big Client successfully, studies were vetted by a 3rd party from Italy. "Your lecture just revived my memories of SRA studies". Also we had used SeismoSignal software and PEER database. There is also seismoartif program but you can only use it for linear SRA for buildings structures, not for ground. Adopted ASCE code, used DeepSoil for SRA.

When we are scaling vertical ground motions, do we use the same scale factor ?

Assalam ulaikum teacher i have problem in finding Ss and S1 value for my site in zone 3 of Pakistan in ASCE 7-10. for site class D can you help to provide these values?

Please wait for 2, 3 months. IA the new version of building code of Pakistan (BCP-2021) is under progress and it will contain the Ss and S1 values (and hazard maps) based on the state-of-the-art probabilitic seismic hazard analysis.
