June 2024 Railfanning the NS Pittsburgh Line, Day 2, Part 1 - Altoona to Cresson

In an effort to try and avoid having these videos running too long I tried to split them as best as I could - that being said ... Here was the first part of our second day catching NS trains along the Pittsburgh Line in the Allegheny Mountains. Carrying things over from the previous night, I'd catch a couple early morning trains racing through Altoona before getting some much needed rest.
Later that morning with some beautiful accompanying weather we were at it again with a handful of road trains in Altoona to start things off. Then after a quick relocation for the HI10 local and the morning Amtrak it was time to head up the mountain as we ventured west.
For the afternoon we'd spend our time making runs back and forth between Cresson and Gallitzin, as we caught trains at the Railroad Park and also made a few short chases of select trains to AR Tower and the Tunnels. Finally, and though no trains were caught on this stop we'd make a brief visit to Cassandra.
