Resident Evil: Biohazard gives PS4 players the option to navigate the horror-filled Baker household in virtual reality -- but how much more horrifying does this immersive tech make the game? Self-proclaimed Great Scientist Luke asks horror-phobe colleague Ellen to play two sections of Resident Evil 7, one with VR and one without, and documents her experience. Safe to say the results are... unambiguous.

Gunnar Karotte there's a theory going around that Luke and Ellen are androids created by OutsideXbox for these sorts of experiments. Apparently that's why OutsideXbox are always off-camera in OutsideXtra videos. _Behind a pane of glass maybe.._

They really did a good job then. Since Ellen has her own RUclips Channel for quite a while, they must have planned this a long time ago. Wouldn't surprise me to be honest... Jane always has plans. Alot of them.

Yeah the game is 10x scarier in VR. There's no denying that VR is a huge leap forward in immersion.

@@zackmorris1144 From my experience, The Evil Within is lot scarier than RE7. Keep in mind, I notice huge difference between -playing alone in my house, in the quiet night, everyone outside your house is sleeping- and -playing in normal hours-. You should try that, playing RE7 VR in a lonely environments.
I tried the until dawn rail shooter in VR it did nothing for me. I don’t know I didn’t find it scary. :/

This is just Luke getting you back for all those impossible quizzes, Ellen. At least now OXtra has a new mascot! (And Nintendo won't be jumping at the chance to make money off of you.)
It sharpens what you directly look at. That means you can't tell the difference as easily between cheap background graphics or a highly polished jump scare, every detail must be assessed.

the vr experience is over with for me i lasted a hour and past it to granny i know it was wrong but she wanted to know what it was like,she found out now she in the hospital cause she had a heart attack. I love how Ellen _immediately_ crouched like she was trying to make her in game self tiny so nobody would notice her, she also started whispering as if she spoke too loudly she would get noticed.
And then she put the VR on and then just started stalling and hiding in places and just _refused_ to progress because she stayed at the beginning long enough to feel safer there and progression usually means bad stuff happens.
Ellen is so much braver than me though, I freak out about the same amount as her but I would never have been able to play.
