I was thrilled to see Pamela Anderson make the cut. Apparently The Last Showgirl was filmed in just 18 days!!! Haven't seen it yet or Sing Sing but I'm rooting for Domingo. He won Gotham and several critics' prizes too. I'd like to see this film get a boost before Oscar Night.
I’ll be seeing The Last Showgirl this week and recently saw Sing Sing and need to review! Subscribe to my channel for more Oscar’s discussions and reviews! Thanks for watching :)
I saw this on accident, but it's evident you are really into it, so I hope you take it for what it's worth. Maria Callas wasn't touched for decades for a reason. People over 35 are offended by Jolie's near arrogance in the press. It's reading like this, "I had to prove to Brad I could sing, so now I can sing Maria Callas." Pablo Larraín, her voice trainer for the film, the editor, the mixer, have all spoken out, some saying it's likely less than 10% of Jolie's voice. She has her Oscar. I don't really care if she's nom'd. I haven't seen TLS. If Anderson brought the goods, I think that would be great. I wish they'd stop considering relevance. Thanks.
Sing, Sing would have been my choice for ensemble. The majority of the actors are non professional and everyone of them is terrific. The narrative is so perfect, it would have been wonderful to see them up on the stage accepting the award.
The SAG Awards’ blatant disregard for foreign films perfectly mirrors the stereotypical American ignorance of geography and culture. Just as the average American struggles to locate their own country on a map, the SAG voters seem incapable of recognizing groundbreaking cinema beyond their borders. It’s a tiresome reflection of insularity, where anything non-English or non-Hollywood is dismissed as irrelevant, no matter its global impact or artistry.
I don't think that's it. She made a boring movie that no one is interested in. The fact that she has a shot at all shows the industry does respect her.
I have to say the way Sing Sing was set up to fail from A21 has my 😡. Them The, Nickel Boys and Substance getting dust at DGA also annoying. After 2 strong film years we are getting EP as a serious best Film candidate. Crash part 2 incoming.
Wicked had 5 nominations with Stunts.

Unfortunately it probably won’t translate to Oscars, but it’s a nice boost to her acting career.

Angelina Jolie has lost a lot of industry support over the years because of her messy Brad Pitt divorce.
