sisu is doing what is necessary in the face of insurmountable obstacles by drawing on an inner reserve of power. a combination of courage, determination and strenght of will. "what must be done, will be done"
The science fiction writer had such respect for the Finnish in his book “Citizen of the Galaxy”, he named a ship SISU, and the Traders were ancestors of Finnish people. The traded across the Galaxy, where no protection existed, growing rich and defending themselves when necessary. A worthy tribute to the Finnish toughness and bravery.
Having returned from an amazing study abroad opportunity, I can honestly say that Finns are honestly some of the best people! I loved my time there, so much so that I cannot put it into words, and I want to go back there every day.
I am not finnish myself but finnish people said that I am finnish ,so sisu is the personal power which can not be ever stops , its going from the land or blood probably .
No SISU is Determination Times 3 and a little bit of KoskenKorva on the top. Thats how.we win wars. We use Molotow Cocktails. Yeah thats sum finnish tech right there
@@MrHarrystank A war one doesn't participate in is a won one. Finland (or whatever entity with whatever degree of autonomy before it) has been much more involved in wars in the 20th century than before. Sometimes one has to war. Then we war and then we lose. Moral of the story: War isn't really so dapper or pissah. I wouldn't take pride in a won war like I don't in a lost one. Still everything is kind of relative. What would one expect when the USSR comes knocking. They said they were out of Karelia (lies) and asked us to lend some. What's there to do? "Let's just give the territory away, let's not defend those areas so some fancy British guy can't shame us for losing a war like 70 years from now" , said no one and now we suffer because of their decisions. Winning the war would have meant keeping the areas where some people, including three of my great grandparents, were living and hag been living for the past two thousand years. The loss, however, meant, that fleeing had to be done. Now those effects and causes, actions and reactions, feelings and memories, have been reduced to words for people to throw around. Some people still respect everything that happened but some people start talking about victories and losses. Every bullet to hit one's target is really just a bullet to one's forehead because it doesn't matter who you're killing, holy damn, you are killing someone. Nice empire btw
The "interviewer" is a very clever guy and I can assure you, he got the joke. He may have even set it up and was hoping for Mika to pick up on it. He did. They're both smart.
No to all that jubberish: Sisu is an old word, to describe the finns strange courage, where they just refuse to die by minor injuries, and also heavy ones. Not many people know this, but the actual berzerkers where lappish forest people, Finnish lapps.

Testiklees Can’t believe this person doesn’t know who James May is 😅
Lol stupid interviewer. Whoever he is, he should present a cooking show or something instead of interviewing a F1 legend.
