    I don't get the drumming for nesting theory. If they want to attract mates, why don't they just call? Their vocals would be louder than any drums. How do we know they don't just drum because they enjoy it?

    Unfortunate that the soundtrack with its music and narration continues while he, the male cockatoo, is drumming. I'd prefer to hear just the male's "performance" and whatever ambient sound, the wind, the rustle of the leaves, etc, is going on while he "plays". A great video nonetheless!

    No no it is not the only bird to make a tool to make a beat. Our yellow cockatoos do it all the time. People think they know everything. I interact alll day with birds.
