I just realized that Gohan did against Bojack what it took Goku Blue and Kaioken to achieve:
Teleporting through his Kamehameha for a melee attack without getting vaporized by it and still maintaining it's output

His Character was never messed up, Gohan always preferred to Study over Fighting. They just showed that more in late Z and Super.
