Johnny, The Galle cricket ground is chosen the most beautiful cricket ground in the world recently....and there is a 5 day test match about to begins on 14 th of Jan with England......unfortunately it has been prohibited to watch in the ground..so but it'll be able to watch on the fort i guess.....if you can watch few minutes at least, it would be so beautiful....

I have been living in Sri Lanka for almost 2 years now and only been in Galle 3 days. I wished to visit and stays longer, I can see less crowded so it’s more beneficial to enjoy roaming around.
Srilankan has one of the world best food totally healthy and mostly fresh vegetable and fruit which grow on fertile land of Srilanka best place for food lovers
Hay Johnny , you didn't go to the famous Closenburg Hotel . (near the Fort) , I stayed there once , its beautiful . Famous Bo Derek also stayed there , when she was filming Tazan the ape man , another beautiful Hotel Lighthouse Hotel , check it out

Galle Fort truly is a unique nostalgic place to visit in Sri Lanka, You both gave it a very decent promotion. SPA Ceylon should definitely use Kristina to promote, Kristina you should make a proposal to them maybe you can open a shop in Ukraine.

theres a great beach nearby, perfect for novice surfing and just overall chilling. close to galle fort (5-10mins), seen on left as soon as you get off the colombo highway, on the right if you come from galle fort - there's a restaurant called sahana. (nothing too fancy but they have some great fish rolls). just walk through restaurant and the beach is right behind it. must try. surfing lessons and boards for rent as well. i dropped by recently and it was great. the water is quite shallow a long way in, even though the water might appear a bit rough sometimes.

On your next visit to the city of Galle, in Fort the former Dutch Hospital close to the lighthouse, now unique bars and restaurants. Then don't forget to visit the Dutch House or the Doornberg on the Upper Dickson rd in Galle center. The fantastic beautiful house of the former Dutch Governor at the time of the VOC 1712. Now a hotel. After visiting on the same road (200 mtr.) the beautiful hotel Lady Hill. Go to the top floor with a great view over Galle and the sea. Very special before the sunset. Unforgettable with capital letters. I am curious about your experience.
If you want a more westernised upmarket shopping experience try out the old Cargills’s building near union place in Colombo or the Keells below liberty plaza col 3. There’s also a couple of smaller shops specialising in foreign products inside the Colombo 3 public supermarket. They are located on the upper floors. You’ll find a lot of the confectionery you find in the US in there like cheetos, nerds, taffy etc it’s pretty popular with the European expats living in Colombo.

Go to Jetwing Lighthouse hotel too in Galle. The view from the hotel of the ocean is breathtaking !!! One of my favorite hotels in the south.
