Great video, Steve, well done. I was also out during all the smoke although only in the San Juans. Sunrises and set were quite different, that's for sure. It looks like you all had a lot of fun anyway. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks.

Your videos are so well done. Thank you for sharing. We just bought a boat to keep in Seattle and plan to visit Desolation in July. Can you recommend and resources, planning tools, charts, etc. that would be helpful for newbies? Keep the great videos coming. Did you do a 2018 trip?

Thank you! Desolation Sound and the surrounding area is beautiful. I really like the Waggoner Cruising Guide and the Dreamspeaker books for information. Fine Edge Publishing in Anacortes has a great selection on their website, including a handy planning chart of the area. I was busy with other things this past summer, so didn’t make it this year... happy cruising!

Nice video! You keep Jolly Mon at Anacortes Marina, right? We used to be there and I remember the boat. What type of drone camera do you use? Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, I’ve been mooring at Anacortes Marina for the past several years. For this series I used a DJI Spark drone. I also have a DJI Phantom 3 Standard. Thanks for watching!
