- In this video you can see my DIY tail light project on Alfa Romeo GT. Just to give you heads up, the conversion is more complicated, and time/effort consuming than it seems in the video. Do not attempt to do this yourself unless you have decent knowledge when it comes to car electrics, and more importantly a lot of patience.
Acquisition of all the necessary parts was challenge in itself. All of the parts I ordered took 2 month to arrive due to the current situation.

I don't own Alfa GT, I don't want to buy Alfa GT, but I needed to click and see this video, and man... great job !
Thank you very much...
I own one, great car
@@arcgarage I love your videos. Very helpful thank you. Please could you make a video explaining how to change a pcv valve in an Alfa 147 2.0
I like things staying stock, but those tailights look great.
It is personal preference, but their shape is great, and these LEDs compliment them...
@Deane Larence shut up bot
Nevvvaaaaa ...need that personal touch :)
Ok grandpa
Its pretty rare to see something installed aftermarket look as "coherent" as this
Thanks
Damn what an amazing upgrade, your car looks so much more modern immediately and just looks really great👌🏽
Thanks
Impeccable work, fantastic result. I also like the original aesthetic, but I recognize the work well done and the result. Unreachable to do if you have no experience and above all, you don't have time. An exceptional job, congratulations.
Thank you very much, cheers...
The Alfa GT is such a underrated beauty! The LED lights fit so well, kudos!
Agree, thanks
Living proof that taillight, headlight are the only thing that matter in modern car design
Looks great man, you made it look so easy but only you know how many hours and nerves took it to make them this nice. Keep up the good work!
Thanks a ton, and you are completely right. It took so much time, effort and nerves, even the search for the parts was unexpected hustle.
Such a hard work, as an electrician speaking u are very good. You are professional on whatever you are doing. Thank you very much, if I ever want to do that, I will copy you. You are the best
Thank you very much for support, it means a lot...
Amazing job! Really lifts it. I would love to do this to my GT!
Thank you very much...
one of the best diy led conversions I've seen
Thank you for your kind words buddy
I love it,sadly i barely understood how to do that because i have no experience to lights and other things you mentioned.I wish i could do what you did,but i need a LED video for dummies😊looks fantastic
This looks like something that fits my own taste of making mods for a car although the led turn signals should have been kept flashing as older ones did.
They do flash? Sequential but still
Awesome job and tutorial. I like how it’s a clean minimalist futuristic look. Might have to try this out on my rx7. Oem 93 isn’t cutting it anymore
Thanks, those are the reasons I like it, think it would look great on rx7
What a great design both car and tail lights. With these tail lights looks so modern like new. Alfa romeo!!!
I agree 100%...
Amazing work bro!!! These lights make the car much more beautiful ✌️👌
Thank you very much, I thinks so too...
Boy ive own an alfa gt in Malaysia for years and ive always wanted to do this mod but just never dare to attempt. Thx dude!! YOU ARE AWESOME! Alfa parts in Malaysia is non existence and shipping is expensive! Love the lights bro really thinking if i want to try, but i got no knowledge on electrical 😬
Thank you very much
It looks very cool.
It's a level of quality that wouldn't be strange even if it was originally attached as a genuine product.
The way it shines is very beautiful.
I am watching this video from Japan.😉
Thank you very much
great job converting the taillights! looks awesome!
Thank you very much
Looks amazing. Please list out the resistor and other electronic components used
I was thinking something similar for my Touareg. Awsome work, man!
Thanks...
Ive done the same on my GT. But in the end i didn't like how it looks on mine. Then I tinted dark the stock taillights and I like it a lot better.
Approved!from italian alfista
Phenomenal outcome! Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Bro that looks awesome I couldn’t have done that. It looks great.
Thanks 👍
These DRLs give every car a modern glowup ..looks pretty good imo.
Thanks
Great results!! 👏👏👏👏 It should have had it like that from the factory 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Excellent job and enough details in explanation! I hope it is properly visible in daylight traffic circumstances...
Additionally, maybe non-transparent foil reflective on inner side positioned on outer cover between LED stripes could make much more "contrast" light?
Thanks, camera can't really do it justice. It has great visibility, even in daylight. The strips are red/yellow, so there is contrast between brake light and turn signal...
It looks so oem! Great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
This came out pretty good.
Never knew about the existence of that car, but I want one now
Great car indeed...
So beautiful omg
Thanks...
Fantastic. one of your best videos. however i would never try this, i dont have the skills. If only you lived closer to me, I would pay to have this done.
Thank you very much...
Not certain what to think of this. It looks amazing, but maybe it's not right for this car. But I love the channel, look forward to see what else you've done since.
Thanks
I love it when in states like Florida and what not, the drivers will equip their cars with the flashing on and off bulbs that are on it's own independent on/off relay. Those bulb not only look stupid they also could cause an accident.
Wow it looks amazing
Thanks
this just shows how timeless alfa romeo designs are. just modernized taillights makes the car look like new recently came out car
Agree
Wow bro! Looks so good.
Thanks...
Thanks for tutorial, i have full black foil on my lamps and i think it will be greate looking with this led lights, oryginal lights are to weak in sunny day :D
they look amazing!
Wow that's really great ! Me and my father would love to have this kind of tailights and the same kind for the headlight but we don't have the skills ^^
skills can be owned..... just do it..... learn.... get a pair of Taillights and start. THAT´s how I started Car Mods and restoring 30 Years ago. No i overhaul Engines, modify Cars and so on. There is no School or Book for this...
really cool stuff! love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
i bought a new alfa GT last week ... Amazing
Nice 👍Enjoy it
@@arcgarage hi , well how can i send you a picture of my GT. Do you have a mail adress ?
looks great mate :)
Thank you! Cheers!
bro that looks amazing
Thanks...
From 90s to 2023 ❤ well done nice design 🎉
Thank you very much
W O W ?? the best diy car upgrade
Thanks
Really nice job!!!
Thank you very much. Cheers!
Very good design. Hot melt gum reliability are not too long !! Alfa friend.
This wasn't ordinary glue though
I did that with my headlights, personally didnt want to brake the plastic so what I did was heat the seal and start peeling slowly and carefully without braking it, once done with the job I just put new seal plastic and job done.
They can be hard to do, mine are sadly glued by silicone by previous owner...
screw the purists man looks absolutely amazing...I love you guys with the blue latex gloves and the soldering irons. Very patient and meticulous such great feel for little fiddly stuff. I bet you were great at making models and stuff when you were a kid. I unfortunately was the type of kid who could take everything apart but could never put it back together again. Didn't change while growing up...more power to you
Thank you very much for support buddy
Very very nice result congrats
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing!!! Do more videos like that one with diferent ideas
Thank you! Will do!
Looks much better, nice
Thanks...
bro this looks insane
Thanks...
Wow...really nice video and great results. I'm sorry on your model you cant take the lens out and you had to cut it, hope you won't have issues with humidity inside the tail lights!
Thank you, no humidity issues yet...
I would love to build something like that for my GT, because the Gt has an timeless design.
Only thing i really think you could see the age of this car are its lights, so it was always a downside in astetics for me when i looked at my car.
But here in Germany its impossible to get TÜV approval for this kind of modifications....
So you just can´t use them here like that, otherwise if the Police sees this, you had to pay a fine up to 500€ for not using original ones.
So jeah its all great in Germany until you want to change things on your car, than its a mess.
looks amazing!
Thanks...
Looks great! Can you put up a part list with links? Also does hot glue really work that well? I never thought of it being great for anything besides crafts.
Thanks, don't have the links, bought the supplies from the guy in Italy, but if I find the links I will post them. When it comes to hot glue, this is a bit higher quality, with a higher melting point. The sticks are as hard as plastic, and they worked really well...
Amazing work, congratulations! Where are you from?
Excellent work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow, great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Too much hard work but the outcome is amazing!
Thanks. Yes it was, but I am more than satisfied with results...
looks great! you should do one on a 996 porsche 911 carrera
If I had one, I would probably do it...
Looks amazing
Thanks...
Amazing, look very good
Thank you! Cheers!
Well done!
Thanks
Need this led stripe technology for my alfa mito
this stripes would be a great possibility for the round lights at the alfa mito 🤔😎👌🏼
They would look great...
they did come out good.
Thanks
Nice work ❤
Check the boot hinges. Thanks 🔥
Oh i want this in my mk2 Octavia!
GREAT WORK
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job man
Thank you very much...
Excellent video.. thanks.
You are welcome!
Looks so amazing! Good job i wanna do this to my alfa 147 tail lights but sadly in Germany that is not allowed... So sad...
Thank you, I a thinking about doing this to my 147...
@@arcgarage Hello, if you decided to do it, could it be on video?
Brilliant job, but I take exception to your caveat that one needs a lot of knowledge about auto electrics to do this job. I'm doing something similar to you for a 1965 Marlin and, when I started, I knew nothing. I'm slowiy getting there.
Good point
great job
Thanks
Looks LIT
Thanks
Look great!
Thanks
Very nice mod👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
Wow amazing
Thanks a lot 😊
An excellent and very useful tutorial.
Question: what are the values of the resistors?
Thank you in advance
Honestly, don't remember, it was a while ago
beautiful!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice made
Thank you! Cheers!
13:55 "The Taillights get mais brighter" LMAO you are portugues I already know it, nice job tho ! Looks good
não é
much brighter hahahaha tas todo perdido
Hi, love your videos! Did you try putting led/neon interior ambient lights? like El Wire..
And also front headlights DRL LED ?
Thank you
Interior is a bit tricky to do, since LEDs confuse the system. I will definitely do something to the front of the car...
@@arcgarage I would love to put drl LED on front lights on my Alfa Gt, rear LED just like yours, and ambient LED like Mercedes.. oh and a 10 inch head unit too!
Damn! That's a big project indeed, very nice job. I think this is above my skill level tho haha I already have a hard time with the android headunit wiring
Thanks, it really was a lot of work, much more than I anticipated, but the results are great...
Android device? how you connect to turn it off, with the wiring of the original radio?... my Android, it doesn't turn off, in the end I'll have to connect it to the lighter cable, how do you connect? My unit only works if I connect, the orange cable along with red at 12 volt constant (red car wiring): "ill" together too, but then, it does not turn off and start from the last app by touching the stereo switch (not boot logo...). I can't find any pin cable that cuts the power when removing the key...It drops down the battery. Ramon, eres Español?
@@manuelsolsona5795 Check out the video on channel on the multimedia installation I did on GT with Bose system...
@@arcgarage Thx i think i see it yet, but i will see again, i am desperate, my friend😭
@@manuelsolsona5795 Check it out, you can see how I took the power from one of the fuses...
That one mod, just made this Alfa 10 years newer. 10/10
Agree
This is a nice setup but why use cutter to crimp when you have crimper?
This is sick
Thanks
Great work man ,it realy payed off in the end. Could you give me a link to those led strips where you boght them?
Thanks, I got them from a guy in Italy so I don't have the link, I paid a lot for them, probably more than I should, and I waited insanely long for them to arrive... Give it a try online...
this look like stock, so well done(i like things in stock)
Thanks
I’ve been trying to find the same LED strips but I can’t seem to find them. Where can I get them? And what search term do I use? Love your videos man!
You are the best
Thank you very much support...
Merci c est magnifique
Thank you very much...
Γρεατ!Please list out the resistor and other electronic components used
Genius. I’d pay this guy to do the same to my GTV.
I think it would look great on GTV...
@@arcgarage agreed - perhaps a full width light bar! Heck, give me a price and I’ll drive over - forget the indicators, just having the red tail & brake lights changing would be fabulous.
Oh wow, where can I get those LED tubes? Amazing! Do you have a link?
Can anyone recommend a new dimmer board link that would provide the same functionality?
The moment I hear the accent I liked the video 👌
Thanks for support...
