Someone mentioned why they didn't just do Olive Garden style Lasagna Fritta, but Lasagna Fritta is a dish of it's own. So making that would defeat the purpose of an actual deep fried pan of lasagna.
Same goes for the deep fried Oatmeal, I imagined they'd make flapjacks (which is essentially an oatmeal slab) and deep fry that. But nope, they went the other route.
I've fried lasagna and it was incredible so yes they messed the fried lasagna up.

I agree. I've seen fried lasagna done on the Food Network MANY times. It's an actually dish that people eat. One chef cooked everything then made it rollatini style. Instead of using eggplant, the just rolled it with a cooked lasagna noodle. Then rolled it in bread crumbs and fried it. Thats why we thought it was going to win. Don't get why they made it in the most inedible way possible. 🤦🤦🤦

In NZ you can buy "lasagna" with mashed potatoes, covered breadcrumbs and fried. It's honestly delicious.

The fried lasagna was completely misleading. I was expecting cooked lasagna battered and fried into epic country fair goodness. That is what everyone was thinking.

Beef stew in a biscuit. Lasagna fried in parts. Straight up fried oatmeal. Why not just put them all in a biscuit and fry them then.
Fried oatmeal is better when prepared with sugar, chilled in a loafpan, then sliced and fried with a bit of butter. Top with cinnamon sugar.

For those roasting Nicole for not being Josh, and these dishes not being "fancy," I'm pretty sure boiled cheese sticks don't need to be fancy for this series. They're boiled cheese sticks. Sticks of cheese boiled in water. This isn't will it where it's basically crazy fusion food until the last 2 rounds where there's creative leeway.
