The Core has a one piece quartersawn neck and the CE24 has a 3 piece glued together neck. That makes a big difference in price.

My new CE has 5909 pickups…another couple of weeks to pay it off!🥰🥰🥰

If it was part of the Core series, it didn’t last long. I was hoping to find it on the prs website in the Core section but it’s not there. As good as these 3 pickup PRS guitars are, they resist making them part of their mainstream offerings. It’s too bad. Maybe they’ll add this or something like it to one or their normal ranges in the future.

@@rickflippin1 It is now a part of the regular Core lineup, as of January 2021-essentially the same guitar as in the video (which was officially also co-named 'Limited Edition', hence the relative rarity). However, the video's MT pickups are now the LT version in '21, and the neck pickup has been rotated into the traditional orientation. Otherwise, I'd expect the new Core model to be _very_ much like the video. (Check out PRS's own promo videos from 2018 for the above guitar -and- the current video 2021 demo, both by Brian Ewald.)

I really want a Special 22 but haven't yet found a Fire Red Burst one in the UK. I don't have a Semi-Hollow yet and love the versatility of the PRS Special 22. I don't want a bolt-on neck so the CE range doesn't interest me...

If you really want the Special model, just keep in mind this is limited. So it’s just what dealers order for a period of time, although I don’t know what the order window is/was. 2 of the colours were only available to order by the dealers at last years PRS Experience 2018 event of which I got a River Blue version in US. It’s taken PRS 9months+ to get the guitars to US dealers never mind further afield. That’s why they’re a relatively new sale item in the shops. Incase you haven’t seen it, here’s the old official PRS page including colour options...

I guess the closest colour to what you were looking for would be blood orange. While it is a lovely guitar, objectively speaking it is position 2 & 4 that make it special (Hum + NF) and if you want single coil sounds you must turn down volume in conjunction with coil taps otherwise it doesn’t get close. Also note these Humbuckers are a lower output so don’t have as much grit as others when pushed. They give more of a mellow vibe imo. I thought the PRS video with Bryan Ewald was a good representation. Enjoy if you do get one 👍

Based on these tones I would never have bought a CE 24 semi hollow. Thank goodness this is not the only video available. Sound in this video was hideous to say the least. Terrible example of what is a spectacular guitar otherwise. Pity.

This guy needs to learn how to fret a chord properly - try applying finger pressure in the middle of the fret, instead of on top of the wire. That would tame
some of that harsh, bright tone you’re creating....”it’s all in the hands”, as they say

I really dont think he's looking for your advice on how to bar chord, Brah!! 😂 Even if you're a thousand percent right (which you aint!), he aint looking for some random nobody's unsolicited advice. And on probably the most basic skill of rock guitar - bar chording.
God love ya mate, you crack me up! Im trying to picture you.... I just cant! Every time I try to imagine what kinda person you are (age, occupation, guitar experience, influences etc, etc), I crack up!! 😂
      Sorry🤗
(I am being a bit of a jerk. I hope you can take this in the good humour with which it was meant😋)

Luey Tele Deluxe actually, I would argue that he does need to fret his chords more towards the middle of the fret. And the fact that it’s unsolicited advice doesn’t degrade the value.
Example at 4:53. I have this exact guitar and I can confirm it does not sound as harsh as in this video.

CE doesn't sound quite as articulate as the Special 22. THE CE solid bodies are extremely damn good guitars and at their price, a steal... Extremely versatile in the pallet of tones. They have awesome snap & bite compared to neck-through... Yes, I know the hardware isn't as it is on the core US models... Plug one in and let your ears decide. I like these guitars more than a boatload of Strats and LP's I've had over the years. Yes, I still own LP's & Strats. When gigging, if I had to bring 1 guitar, it would be the CE24... used to be an HSS Strat for years

CE Bridge and tuners are asian made... def would want to change that!! I find the CE to be way overpriced for asian bridge, asian tuners and a 3 ply neck!!

I bought a CE 24 semi hollow. I love the guitar but I hated the 85/15 pickups. I replaced them with Duncan JB/Jazz set. Maybe not the best for this guitar but a vast improvement over the stock pups.

@@rz0svp not that on its own, but with the guitar forum bro JB/Jazz comment. The 85/15 is a great pickup unless u insisted on going handwound or metal is your main thing
