    Today, Trevor is reviewing the Weber Pulse electric barbecue!! This isnt a new barbecue, but we have noticed the growing popularity of electric barbecues. It seems like more and more gas and charcoal barbecues are being banned from use in apartments, large builidng, and some neighborhoods. Let us know what you think about electric barbecues? My Uncle just gave away his standard grill after his years putting in a lot of work. He wants to continue to grill and this would be perfect. Plus I didn’t know there’s a time coming of banning gas, hence gas grills. Thanks for the review.

    If you are free to use gas or charcoal you of course won't consider this grill. Especially at this price point (which is my biggest complaint) you can get a really nice gas grill. But if you are not allowed to grill with open fire the Pulse might be the best alternative you can get. Living in an apartment in Hamburg I had the choice to pick an electric grill or not grill at all. I had the Q1400 first which is even more basic but it does a pretty good job with steaks, burgers and things like that. Last year I gave it to my sister and got the Pulse because it's larger, has two temperature zones instead of just one and far better temperature control. Yes, heating it up takes some time, especially if you are used to gas grills but I use that time to prepare the food. So it's not really an issue for me.
    But once it is heated up it does its job as well as a gas grill. I regularly use the Broil King of my parents when I visit them and the results are the same to what I get with the Pulse. Also I know a few other people who use the Pulse and they are as satisfied with it as I am.

    I agree it is a Forman type grill. Masterbuilt has an electric smoker that you can add a heating element on top to sear meat. They just took that and flipped it around and with no wood chips no smoke flavor. My friends have an electric grill which works ok but the delay in heating and also heat recovery are just not there yet. Also that you can lift that off the stand it seems like a modified kitchen appliance.

    • @embersliving
      @embersliving  Год назад

      right, we need the smoke flavor!! It is cool how you can lift it up. The cart is actually some extra cash too so you can always just get the grill part.

      If it is like the Q Electric, that is not at all like a Foreman grill. I get smokey flavor on the electric Q. They do smoke! That is why they do not allow the use indoors.

      I happen to have this grill in my Spain apartment and a 8 burner Gas Weber Summit in the US. The Pulse 2000 electric grill is amazing. There are a ton of Weber accessories that further enhance the features and functionality of this grill. Yes, you can easily and effectively smoke on the Pulse 2000.

    They need to toss in a griddle top as standard to really make this thing sell. So its more a griddle and then it could grill too if you want. I think that would attract more people to it.. maybe............. lol.

    The reason of not having temperature control, imagine you being in the house and you “switch of “ your grill and you go to bed. Imagine if there is a “lag” “glitch“ Wi-Fi problem or something that’s indicate in your app that it’s off BUT in reality it’s still going on 😮😢.
    So it’s for safety reasons. Just my thoughts 😊😅

    It would be nice if someday we could generate hydrocarbons slowly from water+air using electricity, then burn those hydrocarbons fast for proper cooking. We are 100% hydro power here so that would be carbon neutral.

      I have charcoal and electric. Electric doesn't replace charcoal, but after trying one of these it gives the same results as a gas grill and prefer the cleanliness and reliability over the hassles of propane. Don't worry, the gubbament is not coming for our charcoal grills, and even if they did you can just make your own friggin charcoal at home, so you can calm down, Spartacus.
