I actually really like the movie! It's not perfect, like a fair criticism is the fighting. You get maybe 20% fight and 80% breakfast club. But you do get a chance to see a team that shouldn't work actually work together. Billy is the best of them, hands down. I liked Zordon's backstory, Alpha was pretty cool, Rita as the Green Ranger is a great idea, the suits have grown on me (though I still love the spandex), and when we actually get to the fighting, it's fun. It's definitely become a cult classic and I'll take it as a different interpretation of Power Rangers.
I honestly feel like if we had gotten a sequel, a lot of issues could've been smoothed over. A proper morph sequence, maybe more suit time, the team working together more. The comic, Aftermath, written by Ryan Parrott, imo gives a good idea.

Breakfast club meets power rangers it’s a good movie better a summer movie instead of a spring movie. The only thing power rangers is the final act. I want a sequel.
The biggest reason for no sequel is that the movie failed the hardest in Japan.
It was good enough to deserve a sequel. I enjoyed it.
No it wasn’t. It had way too many flaws and was poorly executed. If it deserved a sequel it would have gotten it because hollywood likes to make money.

There was TOO much story! I didn’t need all but 20 minutes of the movie being dedicated to telling us about characters we already knew and then giving us five minutes of action.

To be fair...we literally only have one modern movie. Starting here ain't that bad.
I dunno why some people complained about the concept art suits and open window face megazord concept was a tribute to 1995 megazord.They complicated the whole designs from the suit to the zords.But I did collect the helmet which was growing on me I like it.I think it would earned more with a part 2 and honestly I find the megazord just unfun.But gotta give credit they used the theme.One thing I really hated about the movie was the face plate removal during them inside the zords which was 1995 mistake the director made and he redo the entire shots realising his mistake that power rangers are not suppose to remove their mask.

Power rangers at its core is fan-fiction. This film is the breakfast club but, stupider!

It’s really sad that the only way I could somewhat enjoy this movie was that I had to pretend I knew nothing about power rangers. I knew this movie was going to fail the second I saw the trailer. If I ask for a cheeseburger, I expect a burger with cheese but instead I get a bun with everything except cheese and a burger. That’s basically what this movie did, It was a good movie but it was trash because it wasn’t a power rangers movie. It didn’t have any of the original elements of what made us fall in love with the show, instead they changed way too much. they gave us a bunch of stuff we didn’t ask for and didn’t deliver what we did ask for. You cannot have a power rangers movie without power rangers. I did not see this movie in theaters but I finally watched it years later and I was glad I didn’t go see it.
The first two will always be classics for sure. I’m glad this didn’t get a sequel because it had nothing to do with power rangers.
I hate that people rip on this movie. I grew up with power rangers and I actually enjoyed the remake. It was rough around the edges but I liked the more edgy feel
I thought the film was good and really worked. There was a cameo with Amy Jo Johnson and Jason David Frank. The set up for the sequel and Green Ranger would've been great. With some luck there could've been a trilogy that even could've set up a new team and story.
