  • On May 19 2016, Author, Speaker and Radio host Eric Metaxas spoke at Calvary South Denver on the 2016 political cycle. As the title suggests, many Christians are finding it harder to find a Presidential candidate to stand behind in these changing times. Eric Metaxas spoke to these concerns and reminded the audience what it was that made America great, and what will make it great again.

Mr. Metaxas should have learned from his immigrant parents that always catering to the ear of the people is not good. As a Chrisitian, I love what he said about faith and the greatness of this country. As an immigrant, I abhor his idea of self centered bigotism. The true power of Christianity, is not to call ourselves great, but to call ourselves sinners, and by God's Grace we are motivated to love our neighbors. It is in the business of loving our neighbors that our tools of serving get honed. The tool may be becoming rich, or poor, but that is God's business, not determined by our self deceiving desires.

I only recently learned about Mr. Metaxas. I saw an online debate he had with Jim Willis (Sojourners). I wanted to agree with Metaxas...but he was soooooo rude. he's not rude on this video, so i'm glad i watched it. I see his skill and ability....but i don't recommend being a "follower" of this or any opinion leader. Still....glad to see him with a better foot forward.

There's no idea of "Frenchness"? He hasn't heard of Liberté, égalité, fraternité? I get that the US doesn't have much in the way of blood and soil nationalism, but that's mainly because the actual natives here, Native Americans, have little power and have generally been treated rather badly.

There is a reason we have forgotten and the crafty Old Serpent knew how to do it. The Bible out of the schools and in with
Cartoons, Sports and Hollywood Pornography! It is really the parents fault.

He talks about the National Debt but he's endorsed a candidate, Donald Trump, whose proposed budget would add between $10 trillion (according to the Tax Foundation) to $11.5 trillion (according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget) more to the National Debt. How can he talk about virtue when he can't even endorse candidates with integrity?
