Also, instead of worring about the hose "bottoming out" in the bottom of the dipstick hole, simply cut a small "slant / " into the bottom of the hose. This will cause the point to bottom out but the fluid will be able to transfer easily.
According to the Sea Doo Service Manual, you must rev the engine at 4000 for 10 seconds to scavenge all the oil from the PTO housing back into the oil tank. That's why he only extracted 2.??? quarts of oil. Doing it according to the book, I extracted 3 quarts, 26 ounces from the engine (same ski). Also, (according to the service manual) oil warm up time is 30 seconds, with a max out of water run time of 2 min. Please see the service manual.
And that's why that oil came out black. Mine never comes out black, I rev it to 4000 a couple of times and get 4.3 to 4.7 quarts out. The oil stays really clean. 230 hours on a 2006 GTX, never touched the supercharger or engine other than spark plugs and retorque the intake manifold, and change a sensor.
The reason you fire up the Seadoo before you turn on the water is so that the water cannon back up into the exhaust filling up the exhaust and then eventually it will overflow backwards into the exhaust side of your motor and dump on top of your pistons.
You are supposed to, once all the oils has been sucked out through the dipstick, put the key on the ski, hold the throttle wide open and then try to start the ski turning the motor over for about ten seconds. The ski will not start and it gets all the oils of the cylinder head and back into the pan. My ski takes the entire bottle of oil provided every time I do an oil change. It even says to do this in the manual, otherwise, great video.
I read that, thanks for the tip! I'll will be doing this for sure. I'm also glad I saw this because I was reading it and expecting the ski to start. I thought running WOT out of water seemed nuts lol. But if it doesn't start, that makes sense.
This trick will make sure to get all the metal shavings out your engine. I was surprised how much metal came out once I tried this trick! Make sure you get all the metal out to prevent damage.
I have to correct you is not to keep the impeller wet is to keep the water box and exhaust cold and if you turn water on without the engine running it will push back up through the exhaust into the engine
Very informative I have had dirt bikes my whole life which I always maintained service on which includes oil changes and clutch baskets and gears . this is our first ski a 2018 Dealer wanted $377.00 per service which i assume is mostly oil. Change I can do Will take it to dealer for the 11 hour but after wards will do service my self Thank you
Its crazy how expensive their services fees are. I just put spark plugs, Sea-doo brand oil and a pump (enough parts for TWO skis) in my Amazon cart and it was $203. I'm not very handy but I think I can do this to save me over $700 to get two Seadoos serviced.
The flush port does exactly the opposite of what you said, it does not cool the carbon seal at all and only cools the exhaust and engine. The reason you do not run water when off is because it will push water into the engine through the exhaust, not push any seals. Also you should not run the engine longer than ONE MINUTE. 5 Minutes will toast your carbon seal very quickly
Take oil from the bottom and inject it into the intake with a VRO and homemade oil injection., thats what i would do with this 4 stroke POS if somene gave me one, never liked them and never will, however they do work well with total loss oil burn off though. I did this with a free mower kohler engine and i fill and run xd-100 2 stroke oil in it with home made oil injection. i love toturing it though and its almost dead.
Rig this 4 joke up with total loss oil injection burnoff. thats i would do if you gave me a 4 joke pos seadoo. im not a 4 stroke fan and never will be.

Hi there lovely jetski. The only thing l was surprised that l noticed, the fibreglass in the engine bay looked ruff, still could see some fibers sticking out of the glass. Don't know if yamaha and kawasaki are the same, not noticed that on them though. Just seems cheap like cutting corners on the overall finish. I'm looking to buy a jetski, not sure which one, maybe a closed loop is better for the freezing temperatures here in sweden. I like the speedometers on the seedoos , much better than kawasaki and Yamahas. I am going to stay away from supercharged ones though. Drinks too much fuel. Anyone recommend the best reliable seedoos.with the supercharger. Atleast a newish one 15-18 year model.
fill it up with xd-100 2 stroke oil thats what i do with my free kohler kohler mower and i feed it into the intake with homade oil injection, so far so good as it works. i fucking hate 4 strokes but they are fun to torture and destroy! hey do work with total loss oil burn off though as i fill and run low ash oil, total loss oil injection burnoff anyone.
i would not change oil in this 4 stroke POS if someone gave me one, i would rig it up with oi injectionl fed from the bottom into the intake to burn it off and rev the hell out of it, I fucking hate 4 stroke but they do survive with homemade oil injection though. Its fun junk to torture and put out of its misery as 4 stroke is funt o destroy. After that take it down range and blast it to smithereens. i fucking hate 4 strokes!
RanHam335 Hey bud. Are you positive that the cap to your oil filter is correct, even tho some forums say it's okay? I noticed with my 2017 GTR-X 230, that if the nut at the bottom of the spindle is loose, it won't let it seat properly. I tightened it finger tight and the cap sealed nice and tight like it was from the factory. Yours could be just fine, but I wanted to throw it out there. Thank you for making this video John M. There were also blue dots that matched up.
John M I took out again this past weekend and it wasn't leaking but looking at it I dont like the way its seated. I'll take it back off and check. Thanks for the heads up
Hey thanks for getting back to me. I just felt uneasy knowing one O-Ring was all that kept it from leaking. Did you have those two blue dots? One on the cap and then on the cylinder. I can't see it making a difference, but I lined them up anyways. Btw, I only have 6 hrs/8 months on mine and my oil was dark too..So I'm glad I didn't wait. With every vehicle I do that break-in oil change, even tho they say you don't get minor shavings in these newer engine's like in past years. I'm surprised you didn't get the o-ring for bolt. I bought the same kit and mine had one. I didn't use it this tho... We'll see if I should've.

Absolutely. I get about 3 qts before I get to that step. Once I do that last step I get about 3.5 qts total out of it.

I would have put oil on the newly installed “O” rings before pushing the filter back into the housing !
He did show how to replace the little o ring from the screw on top of the cap that is important too
For you broke people e-10 is very close and can work with a 6 point 8mm socket I just took mine off with that
Project Albino Rhino asked my dealer and they said they use an 8mm
Thank you kind sir

pretty sure the water is what cools the exhaust system too.

Starting it and letting it run prior to an oil change seems counter intuitive. Dont we want all the oil in the crankcase before sucking it out?

thats normal, for pretty much any boat the inside/ engine hall will look like raw material
I believe that is done to retain the strength in the material.
Have a wake pro 155 and just bought a gti 130 se...both awesome machines...had better options than yamaha
Kevin, I bought a new wake pro 230. I really would t get less HP than 230 .... it’s compelling , so much fun
well done Ran. how long did it take to get oil out?
10 minutes. Maybe not even that

Hi thank you for the video
If I don’t want to buy the original oil ($65) what brand of 10w 40 oil you would recomend ?

Ist a turbo ?
When you connect your ski to a hose you should not run it more then 2 minutes, you will damage your carbon ring my friend.
Exactly......We had out carbon seals go at 13 hours on 2 new Fish Pro's. Sea Doo said they had a bad batch.
And when they go they can sometimes sink if it's bad enough 🤣🤣
How much oil engine put?
Thanks for this.
How much oil you need fill
very good video, tks
What side is the tube that goes in the dipstick tube?
Did you have to get the maintence code reset?
It is necessary to reset the computer when you change the oil and filter, how often you have to reset the computer, thanks
How does one go about doing that?
Hey Sea doo its 2019 we have these things called spin on oil filters.

Good tip on the small o ring. That's why i looked watched video. I thought something was wrong when it didn't go in all the way like older models.
Yeah I wish I would have paid more attention before I started. But on the forums they say its normal.

great vid, but you live on a lake with this EPIC SEADOO and you only have 10 hrs on it ? ok, I have the RXT-X-300 and it is awesome such a rocket
Is it normal for coolant level to go down after 25hrs
It's normal to fluctuate a little when hot vs cold.

I think the oil filter was on crooked and so the oil filter wouldn’t go on properly.
I made a follow up video where I checked it and that wasn't the problem. It seems just the way it is
