I just finished watching samsara on HBO, immediately, i began to reflect about life. To me, it is the highest level of documentation. It is a movie in its essence. It is perfect, as well as revealing events in its perfect nature, and their essence to the naked eyes.
@@trknowles Actually, my wife and I own multiple copies of both films so that we can lend copies out to friends and acquaintances. Everyone that I know that have seen the films are favorably impressed at many levels and are stunned by the imagery.
These two guys have had such a profound effect on my life these past twenty years, I love them so much. The films they create are just a gift to the world. There was such a long gap between Baraka (1992) and the Samsara that I thought at one point, it was never going to happen. I was so happy when Samsara finally got released.
I was looking for an answer to whether there was ever a third film planned.. And here I found it. I know they haven't gotten younger, but maybe there's still time.. 🤞
Brilliant interview man, they seem like really nice blokes. This film had a profound effect on me and I totally get what Ron is saying about flow and unity. I found it to be a very spiritual experience watching this so I'm glad you asked them for their thoughts on that.
I watched this film for probably the 10th time in the last year, I'm lending it to one of my (great) employees, and am prepared to let it go, if she forgets to return it. It is beyond beautiful, and will make you think about your place & your time.
Would love so much if these guys did a final movie so much! really wish they would shoot some scenes in Ireland - Newgrange & Boyne valley monuments, Skellig Michael, Giant's Causeway!
I remember me and my younger brother used to watch the IMAX films/documentaries and one of those caught our attention: Chronos. I was so curious about it i googled it and Baraka, Samsara and the Qatsi trilogy appeared. All these are really special and truly art imo. If Samsara has a "sequel" i can't help but think: Nirvana. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome interview!
If I was interviewing Ron Frickie, I 'd ask him one question: When will the IRE Full Screen Edition of Koyaanisqatsi be released in the UK?! Google IRE Full Screen Edition of Koyaanisqatsi if you don't know what I'm talking about.
Mark and Ron, please pass your knowledge and experience on to some younger folks. The world will need films like Samsara long after you and I are gone.
With full respect to these masters. I hope they continue with film and not digital. Fans (like me) can spot video. Film is truth. Their work has been a Bible of truth.
Well. I think this is one of the most incredible films I have ever seen. To sumarise, I think this would be the best thing to send on a replacemnet to the Voyager Space Probe into outer space - in the hope that alien civilisations will pick it up (and have a dvd player!). It will give them an overview into our planet and its human population....not sure whether such aliens would bother to come and visit ius though! Probably think we were a bunch of weirdos!! Anyway this indicates the worthiness of this film - well done to the film makers

Keeping my fingers crossed for a third one!
The film's "Baraka" and "Samsara" are important works of genius. They are a must see for all to see and experience.
I couldn't agree more!

Great sentiments from Mark about the luxury we enjoy in the modern world as well as from Ron on the inter-connectivity of all life. Great interview.

Great questions, and great interviewer. Really hoping for a third!
Thank you! I definitely hope they do more.

***** Hey, thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the film and the interview :)
Please continue using real film! It makes these pioneering masterpieces look timeless and very precious.

Amen to everything you said, Tobin! It's masters making masterpieces, in my opinion, and I love to share it with others.
Love and Hope for everyone. These two are big minds, a glimpse of divinity in every movie.
thank you very much for sharing this interview with us. there both very lovely guys.
Thank you so much for this video. Nobody has taken or uploaded this kind of deep interview with them. Amazing. 💗
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kindness and I'm glad that you got so much out of this interview/video!
Fantastic job on this Tyler. A great start to the Joe's Daily Exclusives. More to come!
Great interview! Finally someone who knows how to ask good questions. I love all of their films and was very pleased to find this. Thank you
Would love so much if these guys did a final movie so much! really wish they would shoot some scenes in Ireland - Newgrange & Boyne valley monuments, Skellig Michael, Giant's Causeway!
Thanks! Yes, I got pretty excited when they mentioned 3D (and I'm not generally a fan of 3D).

You're welcome! Those are great memories you shared.
I'd love to meet these two one day just to thank them personally for such a beautiful piece of cinematic art (Samsara)
Thank you so much! They both really are as kind as they are talented.
Hey Tim, thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it.
great interview, great interviewer
Ron Fricke is a poetic genius. Samsara is art that is important for humanity... Should be mandatory in schools.
I couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching and for your comment.
That performance art with the guy behind the desk reminds me of Anime for some reason . . . It resonated with me too, very profoundly . . .
What a nice interview.
Ron and Mark are amazing!!!!!
JUST MY FAVORITE MOVIE * THANKS SO MUCH *
Thank you for sharing this

How can I get to watch the movie since it isn´t available here on youtube....and I used to have it with danish subtitles but lost it
Good call man! That needs to come out
I enjoyed your clip.
3D Imax on next film ?
With full respect to these masters. I hope they continue with film and not digital. Fans (like me) can spot video. Film is truth. Their work has been a Bible of truth.
Fascinating

I had watched the documentary several years ago in its entirety and now I can't find it. Does anyone have any suggestions ?
You should still be able to find it on DVD and Blu-Ray as well as some digital platforms. www.barakasamsara.com/dvd
How did you get in contact with them,I'd love to work on one of their films one day
This was set up through a public relations firm, Acme PR, as part of a press day for the film. I'd suggest reaching out to [Mark] Magidson Films.
trknowles thanks so much
Sometimes few words speak the loudest.
Ok stop.. So they built the camera THEN used it to film one of a kind footage. Humble Genius you sons of bitches! respect.
Geniuses!
"It's not as easy as it looks"
Funny.. It didn't look easy at all to me.
I like the part about sharing it with an alien, I think about watching this as an alien, I might take off.
If you want to press the reset button on your life, watch Samsara on Acid ;)
the interviewer is not capable of interviewing these guys. just shallow questions, simple answers.
Hey, sorry you feel that way. Ron and Mark disagree.
Bet they've taken a lot of drugs
What the hell is spiritual consciousness?
More of the same ol' religious babble nothing that exist
Any chance of telling Ron that his film is extremely ugly.
