- Mount Saint Benedict Abbey is located in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad is an island in the Caribbean. The Mount Saint Benedict Monastery, also known as "The Abbey of Our Lady of Exile" was established by Dom Mayeul De Caigny, a Brazilian Benedictine monk in 1912. The Abbey takes up 240 acres of land set in the mountains at approximately 4300 feet above sea level. It is a great place to find peace, meditate, walk and enjoy the scenery. Best of all it is free and open to the public. There is a place to hike as well but there are restrictions so you may need to reserve. There are guest houses around the abbey so if you are looking for a place to stay or find solace for awhile it could be a good option especially for those of the Roman Catholic faith. In this video, we start our road trip on the Eastern Main Rd, drive up St. John Rd and then up Mt. St. Benedict Rd to the abbey. At the top we walk around taking in some of the natural sounds. When I visited they were having religious services so I could not get too close to the structures out of respect but you will still see a lot of the surroundings and buildings.

For those curious as to why some parts may be blurred: Usually if the camera focuses too much on the faces of children or some awkward moment then I blur it to protect the integrity of the people around me. These videos focus on the general surroundings and not specific people unless I am conducting an interview or approached by someone during the course of recording.

Aldith, most definitely, the video, while good at capturing most of it... does not do justice to an in person view.
Recalled many beautiful memories as a child, Church Services with my grand mother and a feeling of peace at the end of our visit.

@@JBsManCave that was a great clip man first-time seeing the place , but I was talking about some contractor was doing digging and stumble upon skull and bones ( older people might remember)
