It's crazy to me that we are focusing so hard on "what a huge win this is for Matt Crocker". Don't forget that he was one of the primary figures within the federation who was pushing for more Gregg. The tone shift happened mainly because of the public outcry for better USMNT results.
We don't care about wins for Matt Crocker or the business within the federation..we care about wins for the US Men's National team. Period.

The saying goes: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Which doesn't apply in the case of the USMNT, because it is broke.
So the opposite of that is, WHEN THE USMNT DOESN"T WIN AS YOU PLANNED FOR THEM TO WIN, CHANGE IS NECESSARY.
I think Pochettino is a coach with pertinent experience for the USMNT.
Best case scenario we win in the Quarterfinals of World Cup 2026 and break Bruce Arena's Record.
Worst case scenario, the team learns valuable experiences from an experienced coach, and moves on with Soccer Football.
When you haven't been winning, DON'T BE SCARED OF TRYING SOMETHING NEW.
Pochettino is a Different coach, but a coach that wins, so Buckle up and Enjoy the ride Folks.
The USMNT Fan base needs to steal a page from the USWNT's Book.
Be positive and Cheer on your National team all the way to the last second of the last 90 minutes.
The Lessons will be discussed at the end not the beginning.
The USSF did a good job with the USWNT's coach.
Be positive regarding the USMNT coach.

USSF will give him total control. Every player will play afraid. Expect the USMNT to score more; they will press a lot in the final third. There's a good chance he'll play 4-4-2 with duel striker and duel 6's form that includes Sargent and Balo as well as Cardosa/Musah and Adams. Weah may play an 8 type position - where he is box to box, especially if McKinney continues to be out of shape... With that said, I don't know how he solves the center-back! situation or goalie (Turner may not be the solution).
The USMNT will be really good and interesting.

No. I expect the USSF to give Pochettino marginal control to start and then the suits at the top, as they always do, will meddle with the team and it will get him pissed off and he quits in frustration. The USSF brass can't help itself but meddle in team affairs and undercut the men's side. This team has no hope of going anywhere and anyone who is realistic about this sees through this signing.

Never ever before in the History of Soccer Football, have Players influenced the Style of Play although they could. It's always other influencers especially the COACH.
Teams what were made of Excellent players but didn't have a good Coach, they simple lost a game in the early stages maybe the first game, and so you never saw them play, you don't know.
But Good Coaches (not the bad ones, which there are of them plenty) they can make of ordinary players a good team that wins championships, and you have see many of these.
When the Coach succeeds and the Team Wins, all the wannabe analysts start to talk about how great that or this player is. They simply act the fantasy of being a Coach, but the truth is they don't know sh!t about Soccer/football.
Always be careful of those who pretend, Tom Cruise is not really really really Ethan Hunt, the same way the wannabe Coaches may convince you that those players were born the greatest, it's God or their Moms who Coached them since infancy, not the Club Coaches and the National Team Coaches. Just like a Coach can't win without 11 players no matter how great he is, the same thing for 11 players they can't win a title without a good coach.
A Team can win a championship with a Great Coach and 11 ordinary players, it's happened before. But 11 Great Players can't win a championship without a Good Coach.
It is what it is, soccer is NOT Tennis or Gymnastics or Wresling.
But Soccer can borrow good applicable ideas from other sports disciplines.

Messi has not won a Champions League for 10 years and was certainly not going to do that at the end of his career at PSG. PSG a club that has NEVER won a Champions League trophy.
The problem for the USMNT is the players are just not good enough.

Mauricio Pochettino doesn't know US soccer very well.....people don't take that into account.
BIG disadvantage. Foreign coaches don't necessarily guarantee success. Kinda like when US fans were excited over Klinsmann.
