I think realising that your style is suddenly changing is one of the most exciting things that can happen when you’re drawing. It happened to me the other day and now every time I sit down to draw I get super excited to see where I can take my style this time. @@_natz. thank you but I’m not American so I don’t have “Michales” or “Hobby Lobby”. Literally there is only one art shop I know of and it’s SUPER expensive. Plus, amazon only sells things that are made in my country which also sucks. :((
I've noticed that i go through "face expression phases" a lot. Usually because I'll see another piece of art that's (for example) grinning that looks really good.... And then I subconsciously fill my sketchbook with the same type of expression.
I come home from a rough day at school, watch a waffles video, draw some of my own stuff, (dragons), while I watch her vids, and suddenly, I'm happier. THANK YOU WAFFLES!

I love that you do videos like this... where you post the things you feel didn't work as well as you wanted them to. That's something most art channels completely miss: You do something, it doesn't turn out exactly as you wanted it...but you learn from it and walk away from it as a better artist

Sometimes you've just got to experiment with things you like in different styles until you develop your own. Currently, all I can really draw are cartoony octopuses (yes that's technically the plural) and half decent roses. It's just a lot of practice and experimentation, at least in my experience. 😊

Waffles, this is amazing!! About the red tones kind of mixing together in the coat and the jeans, I've found that using a tone from a hue that is in other parts of the drawing to shade really helps bring out the contrast and bring together the color scheme as a whole. In this case, you could use the teal copic to shade the jacket~
Great drawing and concept. Loved the walk through, it’s really nice to get to hear the behind the scenes process because then I know I’m not crazy when I do my drawings. Also it was a nine pancake day because the waffle maker couldn’t be found.
You’ve got that fluency in drawing, you give your drawings gradually so much life and details! It’s truly amazing and fascinating, even satisfactory to watch you draw! 😍

I do my sketch in light col-erase or erased graphite, add color, and then go in with brown or black colored pencil and do selective lining, mostly where the lines would be thicker on traditional line art. It gives an effect somewhere between lined and unlined that I really like.
