Pro tip for anyone with a piggie with dark nails is to use a flashlight below their feet and it illuminates the quik to make clipping a lot easier and safer. I used to do it with the flashlight on my phone that would make doing that task super easy, especially since I had to do it by myself and only nipped the quik twice in my 15+ years of having them. And a bag of flour is the solution if you do clip it, when it will coagulate the blood really fast (make sure to provide treats the entire time they have to sit with a paw in the bag). Hope that helps someone when I struggled for many years to get it down to be an easy job to do, and thus minimized how much I would procrastinate on keeping their nails trimmed. And the happy zoomies I'd see after doing it made it worthwhile. (Not sure if I've posted this here before, but it's a hack that all owners should know, the flashlight and flour)
You're so lucky to have a good helper, my husband could never hold them or cut the nails. Same with the cat's. I always have to do it alone, much more difficult! Great Video.
How great to have an experienced manicure partner (your husband). Some of the clipping was quite fast; I’m assuming that it was speeded-up. I remember Gatsby as being a difficult spa customer. RIP, Gatsby!
Due to vision issues (mine) I never cut anyone's nails. I make nail cutting part of the annual vet visit. The expert trimming of the nails was impressive to watch. It is funny how our animal companions know are movements so well in that today's "good girl" can be tomorrow's flight risk.
kudos to you both good team work on clipping all them nails and i think if fitz gets any bigger she will be clipping you guys im a nervous wreck when my piggys need doing my wife is better than me at clipping lol
I have two girls. They hate their nails being trimid. My oldest is at that point where she will sit still because she wants it over with lol. My youngest is very stubborn and thrashes constantly.
One of our piggies is going crazy when her nails have be cut, and she has long hair and also hates it when she needs a haircut she wil kick 😅 and the other one just sits like Wilby she doesn't mind 😂

My guinea pig used to bite me and acted like she was being murdered when I tried to do her nails. I gave up and had the vet do it.
