We are using a tilting mount on a wall with drywall and wood studs. If your wall or studs are made from something else, if you are using another kind of mount, or if you have an outlet behind your TV the steps may be different.
Here's what you’ll need: Level, stud finder, measuring tape, painter’s tape, Philips head screwdriver, drill and bits, Allen wrench, socket wrench, and something to take notes.
Skip ahead to these steps:
Attach the mount to the TV: [0:46]

@@BestBuy hey if you have the ability to update your website you might want to have Best Buy update the Samsung Q80A specs. On the website it shows that it does not allow HDMI 2.1. It does. It’s the game HDMI input. That is a 2.1 input.

Back in the day when I was a Double Agent, the DFM at the time was annoyed that I used painters tape for all these exact reasons that you too are using it. Lil note for those DIY’ers out there, if you don’t have a stud finder you can sub in a magnet as it will “stick” to the screws/nails holding the drywall up. Just be sure to double check before drilling 😉👍

I have a 55 inch tv and I just bought a 75in. My question is can I use the same placement for the 75 inch tv.
Yes, the major TV and TV mount makers build to a standard size, so their TVs and the mounts are compatible with each other. So, the process shown in the video will work for TVs 55" through 75".

Does it matter how far apart the wall studs are?
Check out 2:15 in the video. As long as the studs fit within the mounting hole slots on the bracket, you should be good to go. Most walls with regular studs will fit within most TV bracket models.

How high off the floor should you mount the tv
Generally, it's recommended to mount the TV at a height where the center of the screen is at eye level. Where you'll be sitting the most when watching the TV should be considered in this decision.

Why not use toggles bolts
Toggle bolts are entirely dependent on the material into which they are inserted. If there is a seam, water damage, or repair patch, these (potentially invisible) issues could significantly affect how stable the toggle bolt stays over time.
Where possible, we recommend using studs or other structural members to provide a much more secure and stable attachment point, given how integrated they are into a building.

We had our tv installed for us but we can't get behind it to add devices and cords like a roku (there's less than an inch of clearance between the wall and tv). How can I get the tv off the wall to instal devices and is it possible to adjust the mount to leave more clearance between the tv and wall?
Most mounted TV setups use hooks that hang on the mount. You should be able to lift the TV upwards and then away from the wall. We recommend doing this with a friend if possible. See 2:53 and do the process shown in reverse.
Can you do a video showing the LG G2 gallery series specifically? LGs own video is terrible. This was way more helpful, but it is a specialty bracket.

How do I slide the TV from left to right
Most mounts will have hooks that hold the TV up, but will still allow the TV to be moved left or right along the rails in order to position it as needed.

Too much things to do . The hardest part is to find the studs I mean that's basically the main part of everything if you do not have the exact area marked you will end up making holes in the wrong part of the wall

Anybody ever had a situation where the studs were too far apart for the mounting screws? I knew I couldn’t leave the tv in just drywall so I went to Home Depot and bought a pack of wall anchors. Worked like a charm.

Those wall anchors better be rated for double the weight of the tv. Also don’t use the swivel option or that tv is eventually gonna crash down on you man. Put it up.

Screen height (eye level) - I hoheartedly disagree and instead would mount TV so that the bottom 1/3 is at eye level, resulting in the TV being mounted 5 inches higher for a 65" screen and 8 inches higher for a 85" screen then your center of screen to eye level mounting suggestion. Which I might add is doubly important for those of you who have recliners and therefore tend lean back in the reclining position for TV viewing.
We appreciate you sharing your perspective. As you mention, some may have different preferences based on how they plan to sit and the type of furniture used. It's not a bad idea to use painter's tape to put a rectangle on the wall the size of the TV and then take a look from where you'll be watching to see if it works for you.

I paid over 200 dollars to Best Buy and they sent somebody to install my tv but they installed too high. I don’t think they have any idea what they were doing because they didn’t measure nothing at all. So now my tv is too high. What can I do?

Please don’t let Best Buy make your tv fall off of your wall, injure you, or flood your home. They make it look easy here but it’s not, I suggest using a professional installer because all houses are different you don’t know what’s behind your walls it could be wood, metal, aluminum, brick, concrete wall or nothing just straight dry wall which all use different method to installs. If you’re not careful you could drill into your homes power cable (very dangerous) or any other cables behind your wall. Another thing your stud finder could pick up your homes water pipes if drilled into can cause a massive water leak behind your wall or worse. I have 10 years experiences installing TVs so I hope my message helps.
Brother you said it all. Im a professional audio video contractor and its better to be safe than sorry. Hire a pro. Most apt dwellings over 10 stories have metal studs. Always know whats on the other side of the wall. Plumbing, duct work etc. We wont talk about full motion wall mounts... I agree with you totally!

How to mount you're tv.........Be nice ...give it a complement....ask it to dinner...get it drunk....😈
*Wrong way folks too many measurements. Your suppose to measure from the floor to the bottom of the tv once you know where you want it as reference point 1 then top or bottom holes of the bracket as a reference point 2. Then simply add them finally measure from the floor to whatever the total comes out to and mark you holes obviously over the studs. - Note best to use top holes first and drill holes as you go besides bottom 2 those you can eyeball once you have the first 2*
Im Im Nothing wrong with how Best Buy mounts their TVs. I also mount TVs, and I just see it as a different method. Would probably take longer this way if you’ve been mounting TVs for a while.
