i know this comment is old but it won’t stop me from commenting this. lightbulb didn’t call paintbrush a girl because she KNEW they were a girl (which they aren’t even a girl), but because she was guessing. no one in ii knew paintbrush’s gender, and lightbulb constantly switched in between calling them a him and a she because she didn’t even know up until episode 12, where paintbrush came out to lightbulb saying they were non-binary, and use they/them pronouns.
I honestly think, and that goes for a lot of object show girl characters, that it should be more obvious that Lightbulb is a girl. That's why I love BFDI and II drawing that have the girls with eyelashes, since it makes them distinct from the boys.
