Solarpunk is exactly the vision that was in my head but I've had so much difficulty explaining to people over the years. Thank you, Solarpunk, for encapulating the perfect future so comprehensively.
Wow, thanks! We're happy to hear that and we appreciate the positive feedback =) Hope you subscribed and that we'll hear from you in the comments on future videos //Symbiosis
Love the positivity and hope🥰🥰 A great motivator compared to cyberpunk or other negative thought processes that lead to inaction and poor mental health instead of action, love the content and looking forward to more 😁😁
Thank you so much for the kind words! We're glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate Solarpunk. And yeah, Ecotopia is a fantastic book . It's always great to connect with others who share similar interests and values 🌿 Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We hope you you subscribed to the channel 🙏
What do you think about Solarpunk? Should it be embraced by more people? What action do you feel the most intrigued to take? We love your thoughts and thanks for watching =) //Symbiosis
A fascinating concept that is very "Solarpunk" is Food Forests, something anyone can setup in their own backyard with just a bit if research and planning. Forests are highly stable ecosystems that are self-sustaining. By mimicking them in how we plant food crops, we can get high yields while actively *improving* our soil and air quality; rather than diminishing it.
It's not just that "humanity" needs to learn to coexist with our own home planet. Some of us are specifically incentivized to damage ecosystems. How do the rest of us abolish those rewards for plunder? Simply boycotting wasteful products until the wealthy independently become eco-socialists can't be the end of the conversation.
Solarpunk world is hard work and dedication to make it work, of course good technologies like automation and solar-wind-nuclear-hydrogen power should be a thing. Once the adoption is implemented then things might getting easier, then we can solve other problems as efficient as we have solve the problem with the current system we have right now. I dont think a subsection of people are ready for this sort of transition, so it should be happening on a smaller scale and grow from there. Don´t be naive people, a SolarPunk world is something you have to earn before you get the benefits. But a Solarpunk world is definitely possible.
This looks and sounds amazing :) I already try to do a lot for the environment, but would like to do even more ;) What are the animated bits shown in your video? Is it a film or series?
Indeed, Solarpunk is such a nice vision! You can find clip references in the top right corner of the video :) Nice that you do a lot for the environment! What do you do? //Symbiosis
@@naturio-tv Thank you for your reply! But unfortunately I can't see anything in the top right corner, even with the annotations on :( I separate our trash (paper, plastic, cans, glass, etc), use reusable tubs & bottles for bringing lunch/water, use as little (warm) water as possible, try to get "responsible" brands for soaps and such, keep the heating relatively low (I love wrapping myself in blankets anyway, so this one isn't so hard😉), I don't buy fast fashion anymore & preferably get my clothes second hand - even then I try to get natural fiber products, and whatever's made from synthetics I wash in one of those filter bags to avoid micro plastics in the water. LED lights are already customary. I'm sure there's more, but this is what I could think of.. oh! and I follow an almost vegetarian/vegan diet, try to do this more and more 😊
Hello! That's a GREAT question. Our definition of Symbiosis is when humans, nature, and technology are able to live in harmony. For example, technology can be used to develop and implement sustainable practices that preserve and protect the natural environment, such as permacultute, biomimicry, renewable energy sources and conservation efforts. This can help to reduce the negative impacts of human activities on the environment, and ensure that future generations of humans and animals are able to enjoy the benefits of nature. At the same time, nature provides resources that are essential for human survival and well-being, such as clean air, water, and food. By living in Symbiosis with nature, humans can continue to access these resources in a sustainable way, while also preserving the natural world for future generations. Finally, when humans and nature are able to work together in Symbiosis, it can lead to a sense of connection and appreciation for the natural world, which can have many benefits for mental and physical health. Thank you for the question 🙏
So... a lot of these suggestions are climate activism and being socialist. those are fine ideas but it ain't Solarpunk. Solarpunk is JUST an art form. Its not a hoop to jump through. I know it's attractive to try and gateway people into "being the change", but it's as strange as saying people that like Cyberpunk are ready to chop off their arm and become a cyborg. Great topic, don't have an AI write it for you next time.

solar punk is low tech because most tech is unsustainable, it needs rare earth minerals which are ecologically destructive to extract
Valid point!
Not 'effective altruism' tho...
What makes you write that? Anything against them? Thanks for your comment!

The key thing about solarpunk is that it is anti-capitalist at its core…
Kinda sounds like a cult
Haha, how so?
