For one thing you need a better attitude towards life than the municipal managers who don't do their job - for which they are being paid.

The road between Sutherland and Calvinia was paved for 30 km, starting in Sutherland. The contractor left the site because of none payment and apparently the money all dried up. The road between Sutherland and Fraserburg is only paved up to the astronomy telescopes, but even that tar road is falling apart and not being maintained(rest of the road is gravel). The Medical clinic in Sutherland is a death trap and patients need to be transported from Sutherland to Calvinia, the Calvinia Medical clinic is still functional. Sutherland doesnt have a ambulance, so the ambulance must be sent from Calvinia to Sutherland to collect patients, the ambulance used to drive with 2 to 4 extra spare tires when collecting patients. But now as seen in this story, the ambulances do not drive to Sutherland anymore.(I wonder how many patients have passed away on this journey, as this journey was only made for the very very sick patients) According to legend Fraserburg received a new ambulance, but no one has seen it....
I’m not going to lie, I drove from Calvinia to Sutherland with my brother in August 2021 and the road was very bad even with a 4 by 4. We were just driving for recreation on the way to Springbok so weren’t pressed for time but the roads around there aren’t easy to drive if you want to make it to where you’re going to in less than a day
Sadly this is a result of 30years of ANC rule, state capture, cronyism and state neglect for infrastructure in general . I hope the new GNU will put South Africans to work (create jobs) by repairing the nations infrastructure (roads, bridges , dams, hospitals, schools ) and help put our nation on a strong footing again, South Africans deserve better.
This is what happens when we have officials who want to draw a salary and do nothing for it. It is shocking how this country rewards mediocrity and even more shocking that voters keep voting as they have for 30 years but yet expect a different outcome.
Get rid of the corrupt ANC in the province!!! The province has so much potential Agriculture is one of them if administered properly the people could live prosperous. GET RID OF THE ANC!!
These farmers are paying monthly to privately scrape the roads???? The government must give them a tax refund for that. Someone send this to Steenhuisen. He's not a magician but he does care.
Sadly, that's not the only road in a sorry state in this country. The general state of infrastructure is in decline in South Africa, thanks to 30 years of the ANC government's neglect. We're yet to see if this GNU will do better or whether it too is "selling lemons" to South Africans, so to state.
These lazy incompetents in charge, need to be replaced by honest, hardworking people, who care for the country and the upliftment of the community. They are too dumb to see their future wellbeing and food on the table us also at stake!
It’s heartbreaking to see this kind of deliberate catastrophes and tax payer’s money is not used to solve them..where is the money allocated for roads going? Why aren’t contractors paid? Why is it so easy for the road authority to abandon their responsibility like that and it should be up to the road user to make a plan?
Really! Very sad 😢 that is why you have to write exams when you leave school to determine if you are qualified to do any job you get appointed in! No tablets for arrogance and stupidity! 😮

We are in a slighlly more northern area of the N.Cape and the roads get progressively worse. Nothing is being done ! When it rains we get cut off from down and it's just due to lack of road maintenance.
Live starts at the farmers without farmers there will be no Checkers, PNP or any other shops to buy food so the government must put farmers and their needs first no wonder food prices are through the roof
All government officials need to be fired, not put on suspension with full pay, so they can go hungry & maybe go & fix the roads by hand as they were done when there was no mechanical help and a real job not sit on his fat backside doing Nothing!!!!!
There is a new Minister of Agriculture in Town (Steenhuisen). Can the community try reaching out!? Cause we definitely need everything Agriculture running.
I am talking from Canada so don't know the situation. I thought the Cape Government was very well run? Isn't unemployment very high there? Are there no defunct rail lines that can be resurrected ?

I can only guess the ANC run that province???
and we have the totally incompetent ANC officials to thank for the current state of most of the infrastructure in our beautiful country!
Shocking Government Officials
This is what happens when we have officials who want to draw a salary and do nothing for it. It is shocking how this country rewards mediocrity and even more shocking that voters keep voting as they have for 30 years but yet expect a different outcome.
Well done Carte Blanche!
I've been to the Tankwa Karoo once and vowed only to go back in an Unimog or a chopper. Worst road I've ever been on! 😵
Thanks ANC
The whole country is falling apart... Roads, water, elec,
It’s heartbreaking to see this kind of deliberate catastrophes and tax payer’s money is not used to solve them..where is the money allocated for roads going? Why aren’t contractors paid? Why is it so easy for the road authority to abandon their responsibility like that and it should be up to the road user to make a plan?
Also a method to claim back the land : to make it useless.
Shameful! My heart goes out to these farmers.GNU get the job done, that what we pay taxes for.
What a shocking state of affairs! 😮
Love your interviewer - hope to get a lot more from him.
Municipal that doesn’t do their jobs must not get paid end of the month.
I drove from tankwa to calvinia, it was a long and treacherous journey, the max i could drive was 20 and even that was bad.
Really! Very sad 😢 that is why you have to write exams when you leave school to determine if you are qualified to do any job you get appointed in! No tablets for arrogance and stupidity! 😮
While conducting this type of investigation. Visit KH Hospital in Kimberley while the topic of hospital cases is still current. It is a shame, and there is a lot to report. Same as the Helen Joseph Hospital,
Did the Namakwa land last year up to Port Nolloth and roads wasn't to bad on main roads, but loads of road works last year. The dirt roads are another story. Farmers try to keep the dirt roads graded with their own plows ect. There isnt any assistance if your car brakes down in-between towns.
If these farmers don't get the support they need, then we as the common citizen will suffer higher prices 🤷♂️. Hence, this should go viral
that official is guilty and childish at the same time
We are in a slighlly more northern area of the N.Cape and the roads get progressively worse.
The new minister if agriculture should support these farmers.
Dis n skande dat sulke amptenare nog n werk het hul moet afbetaal word.
@@theTESLAwizard It is Northern Cape Province. Western Cape has been under DA. Northern Cape ANC.
Guys this situation is very simple, the sooner we realize that we don't have a government, lets take the power from them and we govern ourselves. These people are thieves we are getting drained mentally, physically and financially and yet we put trust on them by voting. I hope and pray that the messes will wake up.
That Rude guy doesn't deserve to be paid by our tax money........
He must sommer Voestseeeek, im so bored by his attitude
Infuriating 😢
