      I agree with you, that’s a beautiful part of the country just a pity it’s not accessible because most people from outside the area (myself included) don’t know the roads and can’t pick their lines like experienced four by four drivers. The fundamental tragedy of South Africa is that government officials can steal ALL taxpayer money (and do NO work) and the ANC will protect them, and the "geniuses" will keep on voting for this. This will keep on happening until every part of the economy collapses and suddenly the "geniuses" will starve to death. They are so intelligent that they are literally voting for their own destruction and the destruction of their children's children.

    30 years have neglected many sectors of our nation. However, please don't jump to rascism because
    that makes no sense when the entire country depends on the produce and harvests that come
    from these farms. And lets not mention the huge illegal immigration problem we are dealing with as well.
    The honest truth, imo, is for the last 30 years we have been abandoned. The new GNU has breathed
    a new life of hope into many peoples hearts and minds. Lets pray that ministers
    John Steenhuisen and Dean Macpherson will step up and provide the support agriculturally and
    infrastructurally to ensure that these desperate farmers receive the support and backing

    I have a theory, hear me out and have an open mind. These officials are now flocking to theorise the agricultural industry since they have seen an incline of farmers emerging. With that being said, delaying the rehabilitation of roads and infrastructure of existing farms favours them(their families and friends) who are becoming farmers. Essentially they are cutting out competition who are the effected farmers.

    • @russellmcphee72
      @russellmcphee72 2 месяца назад +9

      As has recent history shows, nobody can just become a farmer, it is a calling from a young age. Zimbabwe is a prime example of this. There are no other emerging farmers who have a hope because they are on the wrong type of land.

    • @HarmonicRezolution
      @HarmonicRezolution 2 месяца назад +4

      How does it make sense to cut out your competition when your destroying the infrastructure you need to be competitive? If your selling in a competitive market you need more than roads. For one thing you need a better attitude towards life than the municipal managers who don't do their job - for which they are being paid.

    The road between Sutherland and Calvinia was paved for 30 km, starting in Sutherland. The contractor left the site because of none payment and apparently the money all dried up. The road between Sutherland and Fraserburg is only paved up to the astronomy telescopes, but even that tar road is falling apart and not being maintained(rest of the road is gravel). The Medical clinic in Sutherland is a death trap and patients need to be transported from Sutherland to Calvinia, the Calvinia Medical clinic is still functional. Sutherland doesnt have a ambulance, so the ambulance must be sent from Calvinia to Sutherland to collect patients, the ambulance used to drive with 2 to 4 extra spare tires when collecting patients. But now as seen in this story, the ambulances do not drive to Sutherland anymore.(I wonder how many patients have passed away on this journey, as this journey was only made for the very very sick patients) According to legend Fraserburg received a new ambulance, but no one has seen it....

I hope the new GNU will put South Africans to work (create jobs) by repairing the nations infrastructure (roads, bridges , dams, hospitals, schools ) and help put our nation on a strong footing again, South Africans deserve better.

Why is it so easy for the road authority to abandon their responsibility like that and it should be up to the road user to make a plan?
