- Tampa International Airport is looking to make travel easier, less hectic and less stressful for travelers with hidden disabilities and their families.
I have multiple invisible chronic illnesses, this made me cry when I learned about it. It's so considerate.
This is a fantastic idea and could be helpful in MANY situations. I am a "sunflower".
I am a sunflower lanyard user in the UK. I do see these being given out too readily; which worries me that, in time they would lose their reason for purpose. Most people here think they mean you don't need to wear a mask. So already, confusion is happening, as to their meaning.
I got mine a couple of weeks after the first lockdown and I’ve been using it since and I live in the UK
Airports are very stressful for the hearing impaired as well.
This is so awesome
This is great. I just hope people don't abuse it that don't need it.
Hey all! So I’m sure this can relate pretty much any airport who has this program. So I have a question does the person who helps you go through front desk, boarding, security do they stay on the plane with you the whole time til you get to your next destination? And do you suggest going down to your local airport asking questions? Or letting them know far in advance from where you’re coming from and your desitination? As soon as you get to your desitanation do u let front desk know with your assistant? I’m new to this and traveling eventually thank you!
very informative video
I got sunflower lanyard due to my learning, understanding and anxiety
So why do I not have one I got a disability
I have One!
I'm sure this program won't be abused by people who just want to get thru TSA faster.
Wearing the lanyard does not expedite the TSA screening process. It simply offers an easier way for people with hidden disabilities to be able to receive the accommodations they need to make the process easier for them.
@@solaira3154 I have no problem with assisting people with hidden disabilities....my concern is that those without disabilities will abuse this, and ruin it for those who need it. I'm sure that TSA would move people who had issues with noise etc to less crowded stations which will speed up boarding. It's like the service animal issue. People who want to bring their pets with them make it difficult for those who have actual service animals.
