I switched to geology after a few years of that (which is a lot less intense, and a better career in Canada imo). Now I refuse to touch caffeine, it gives me flashbacks to eng and makes me feel sick.
I once had a morning exam (NOT a morning person) so I drank a red bull with my breakfast - had to run to catch the bus, during which I realized I could see my heartbeat 💀💀💀 the edges of my vision would go blurry/static-y every time my heart beat lol

I stayed awake for 36 hours leading up to my exam day, and by the time the exam ended, I had been awake for 41 hours, with only 1 hour of sleep before my presentation. During the first 16 hours, I consumed 9 energy drinks, and I had 3 more during the presentation to stay awake. Despite the exhaustion, I managed to get an A+, and afterward, I slept for about 18 hours, only waking up when my dormmate woke me up
My biggest problem was less so studying, buy actually just getting sleep. Could never get any sleep the day before the exam and it pisses me off. I'd be laying in bed all night just moving around.
My first year of school I had to wake up at 445 to beat my parents to the shower so I could be at work 40 miles away in the city by 6, unload trucks and warehouse at a retail chain until 9, get to campus on the literal complete other side of the city by 945 so I could jog 3/4 of mile to my first class, attended classes 10-4 and then had to run all the way back across town to work the second half of my shift from 5 to 10, and then commute the forty miles back home. There were definitely mornings I came in "loaded for bear" as my boss called it, two 55oz mountain dews and a 4 pack of Spike Shooters before they were an energy drink and were only being sold by GNC as a preworkout and they were way stronger, and I'd down it all before we were halfway through the first truck just to get through the day.
I'm reminded of a time when I mixed two cans of some "limited edition" energy drinks into a gallon Gatorade. It somehow kept me...awake(?) for days. It rendered the effectiveness of energy drinks useless to me for YEARS. XD
I am 4 years at the Uni and i can tell you, with enough skill comes understanding u CAN do all this without an energy drinks - this will stop you from crying but you will fall asleep 0-20 mins after the exam
In my university, a coffee brand had a promotion during hell (exams) week. They were handing out free bottled coffee at the gates so everyone was like, "Oh, free coffee to keep me sharp this week, don't mind if I do!" and were going for seconds, thirds & fourths, on the same day! 2 days in the promotion, at least 1 student was hospitalized due to abnormal heart rate. 11/10, free caffeine, is FREE caffeine!
I never did that type of concoctions because I hated my university career so much I didn't want to harm my body for it The long studying nights and crying though, I did that a lot
Accurate Experience from 80% of universities population. If you didn't mix at least 3 different energies drinks with any blend of coffee... you didn't experience Uni at full. The sad part is... i did an all-night without any energy drink at all.

I dont know how she survive exam like that without failing, the best thing to do to make sure you absorb most informations is too review in advance then a day before the exam rest. Believe me it works for every one and you get better results than cramming

Suffice it to say, I went to sleep at a reasonable time for my final 😂
Depends really, definitely don't pull an all nighter before an exam if you've never done it before. Trying to learn while your brain is actively fighting for its life is pretty much impossible.
