      @@MaicaicaI think incest is about marrying your cousin, while inbreeding as much as i know is having an affair with your blood sister/brother or mother/father grandpa and such, my parents are cousins and I came out fine but my little brother didn't but many of us in the family are fine we're from the middle east btw so it's normal in here while i don't recommend getting too much into this like marrying a blood relative one after another which could do this exact thing

      Yeah, this level in inbreeding takes. A good few generations. How inbreeding is dangerous is the fact that genetic code gets reused, so it can create errors in your body's natural immune system, so the child can get a disease while developing that is caused by the weakened immune system. That woman is incredibly lucky to be that normal if it truly was multiple generations.

      I’ve heard it’s because of recessive genes of deformities and health problems within families that are extremely unlikely to be shared with a stranger but with your family, especially closer related those biological problems basically multiply each other because it’s much more present

    • @genevievec.8002
      @genevievec.8002 Год назад +45

      @@shortcake9046 Pretty good explanation. It's the same concept in animal breeding. Take German Shepherds, they were really inbred early on, but even after that stopped people were breeding them to the AKC standard of having a low butt (froggy back legs) so they'd breed GSDs with that trait compounding on it. Since the predisposition became more and more intense, without inbreeding necessary, it became very severe and the AKC actually had to start disqualifying GSDs that were too froggy to prevent severe health issues in the breed. Now imagine that compounded by all the same genetic issues because the relationship is much closer.
      Also, it's usually not going to be a one generation thing. Line breeding in cattle is a good example of balancing inbreeding with hybrid vigor. You could also look at the most inbred royal line in Europe, the Hapsburgs, and see how long and to what degree they were inbred and what level of deformity came with it.

      @@genevievec.8002 yeah the dog breeding system looks so screwed from what I’ve seen since so many ‘cute’ traits cause serious health problems for the animals but because people keep buying them they keep being bred to be unwell

    • @NoBuddy89
      @NoBuddy89 Год назад +17

      It doesn't, not initially. The first generation, even just ordinary siblings is a very slight increase in deformities and so forth.
      But once you have 3-4 generations of inbreeding, thats when the trouble starts because the faulty genes and chromosomes compile for each generation.

      @@Alexander-ct2hn marrying cousins is allowed. but it's neither encouraged or prevalent. there are hadiths (something that the prophet said) that rather discourages this marriage, but they're unproven to have been said by the prophet.
      but their existence mean two things:
      1. muslims since the prophet's time knew that marrying cousins will create idiot or sick children, whether it was discussed by the prophet himself or not
      2. allowing something doesn't mean encouraging it. because in the quran god allowed cousins marriage. but muslims were discouraged to do so, by hadiths and society.
      so just don't worry about us. in islam, we believe that god allows things to make things easier for his creatures. and since marriage is half the faith in islam, people feel encouraged to get married and raise children. but some people just don't know anyone and they can't date because men and women can't flirt in islam. so, to make it easier god made it possible for two cousins who already know other to get married.

    I have been a genealogist since 1976. I have studied over a hundred thousand familial relationships going back centuries. First, while inbreeding is generally not a good idea, you do NOT get this level of deformity from just two first cousins mating. This is a multigenerational thing at the very least. Look at the Hapsburgs of Spain as an example of what NOT to do. First one or two generations nothing serious but then you can see the progression of deformity increase as one goes down the generations. This family is at the very least on the same level or worse and this had to happen as a result of at least four or five generations of repeated inbreeding.
    I also want to point out that marriage between first cousins is legal in 19 states and this is due in large part to the low risk of medical issues from just the one time. Now if you repeat this two more generations you will probably see some issues arising and another one or two generations and you get this family.
    I also want to point out that first cousin marriage is more common than you think and is not new. It is less common now due to people moving around more. But in small remote villages where people don't travel from home often, you will see first cousins marrying quite common. So far I have not seen a single 8 generation human pedigree without at least one example. I have several in my family from the 17th century and their children were normal and well educated. But it did not repeat ever going back five hundred years. But one thing about incest is it usually cures itself over time. After a few generations, the product of repeated incest is incapable of reproducing which is why the last Hapsburg died without any children.

    The sad part is, it end up being a cycle that just gets worse. Two relatives get together and have kids, those kids grow up thinking its normal and do it again, and as it continues the family becomes more isolated and often has sexual abuse (it already does since incest is sexual abuse, but it often ends up where the parents abuse the children) and as the inbreeding continues, mental issues arise that just make it worse (often impulsivity) and eventually the parents cant even care for the children. Thats probably why one of them only communicates in barks and growls: isolation and neglect from the rest of the family.

      No “double cousins.” Their grandfathers were twins, same DNA. Their children (cousins) married, (a girl from one grandfather/boy from other grandfather), hence the inbreeding.

      @@Yreev Their grandfathers were twins that I believe married sisters from another family. Which still would have been okay. But the children of these marriages “double cousins” married each other, with the resulting inbred children. You can’t marry someone who has the same father (DNA) as you. Try to picture your spouse’s father is also your father (DNA-wise). They needed to marry outside the family. Instead they married each other and had inbred children.
