Great discussion about the mores that need to change re males, females and dating. I sent it to my 22 yr old daughter. Excellent discussion at the beginning. I don't agree with what she's saying about the millennials. Most of the millennials I know are self employed. I feel like a lot of the millennials are generally as well that's my experience. But I don't completely disagree with here, I just don't personally know anyone living at home or living the van life, it's popular but I'm not experiencing that. Also I consider a millennial a Pluto in Scorpio generation born from 83 to 95. That's important for me to clarify. I do absolutely agree with the boundaries issue, and women giving away their bodies too easily with our making the guy work for it. That's a serious problem.
Parental alienation is the leading cause to ALL societal detriment that we face in this generation. The 20/80 parenting schedule statistic you mentioned is the law, this is the standard custody schedule a court imposes on Father's primarily if the mom does not fight it and a judge cannot legally order any more and typically will give far less parenting time here. No judge has ever given 50/50 unless the parents went to mediation.
Don't compare yourself to others? This whole approach is based on comparison left over from religion. Alpha vs. beta, women as passive and limited, etc. So many Taylor Swift songs here. That's the immature past.
Honestly I don’t think she’s right about half the things she’s saying. Going without sex for a year or two wouldn’t have brought me closer to my man. If I didn’t have every crap guy in the book wouldn’t have found my person and recognized that he was my person. There’s a lot I don’t agree with her on but I don’t want to rant for too long because there’s A LOT I disagree with
Everything is swinging in polarities, and in my opinion it is not enough to look at only some of these areas and then wish for a return to "the old days". You wonder why the younger generations are not as intersted in responsibliity; true, there can be a problem taking one's own power and instead relying on others, but on the other hand, what world are you asking people to participate in? We are still living in a world of working slavish long hours for a corporation, doing something our hearts cannot connect with, so we can have this 1950's existence of a house with a white picket fence, a wife and 2 kids. If millenials are rejecting this, in part, we can see this as a positive transformation because they are looking for an existence where they get to define their own priorities, not simply copy and paste them from society. It's just there are growing pains here, so you can also see some stagnation as young adults - representative of all of us within this mimetic universe - try to find a path to empowerment.
