It isn't that this song is really sad or anything. It's just the feelings that this song holds hit you hard when you listen to it
I think it ties in with how sometimes the saddest memories is the passing of happier times

What's sad about the song is that its vibes are of happier times, and for many people, myself included, that's nothing but a nostalgia flash going "Look what was lost."
That's why it fit the show so well. First time they played it was when David was distracted for the first time since his mother died. He was happy. The last time they played it was purely a reminder of what was.
A melody fully packed with a bunch of "what if's".
I love music that have this "Adventure" vibe to it, also watching Edgerunners gave it a clear picture of what this music represents.
Adventure, love, romance, goals and dreams.
I’ve listened to this song 100 times now and every time I either sob or tear up. This cover is amazing, and so is the cosplay

Ru's piano performances on every songs are always beyond my expectation. Not only her skilful playing, but also the melodies she pours into different songs make them so special (this one is calming and emotional, along with her stunning Lucy's cosplay).
Not hard to say, she's among the best pianist in this current Anime world.

Song always brings out the feels. Edgerunners was just so good and for someone who generally doesn’t like anime I was just so impacted by the beautiful story in ways I can’t begin to describe I wish there were more shows like that.

This song became my alarm clock after I watched it in October this year. I wake up with a feeling of being down to earth and to enjoy every day. (it also became my most listend to song of 2023 on spotify)

Seeing "Lucy" play this makes it such a fitting memorial for all of her lost chooms. Pretty sure that's going to end up as a head canon for me.
So well done. Piano seems to give it another level of emotion usually not found. Except in the memory dredged up by this already emotional masterpiece.
The way she stops at the end of songs makes this look perfect, like she's still grieving and whatnot, amazing work.

The only way I have coped is by finding meaning in David’s life. Once I started doing that, healing became a lot more manageable.

The last shot we see of her is her remembering David, not as some jacked up badass, but a goofy ass normal dude just floating on the moon like they did on their first BD.

A more melancholic and heartfelt version of the cover. The slower pace was perfectly arranged and delivered. The background animations were also edited very well and were seamlessly synchronized with the music. I must say the fine detailed and well designed outfit looked so captivating on you. Hearing “I really want to stay at your house” after watching Edgerunners invoked some unexplainable pain deep within my dark and empty soul
Yeah, I'll never move on from this. This is the first anime that really gave me this despite everything that other anime shows / films has done, Edgerunners gave me a bigger impact and heartbreak.
after edgerunners, i played cyberpunk again.Loaded my last save and killed Adam Smasher 10times becouse he was not dead enough.

It's safe to say David easily goes down as one of the most legendary cyberpunks in Night City. He battled MilTech, Arasaka, and it took Adam Smasher to finally put him down.

I feel that, but if it they were to do a Season 2, it would have to be with another group. Regardless, they've already said the anime was a one and done thing. Only thing we can hope for is a possible re-release with another few episodes to give more time to the characters. Or they might even save it for a DLC of the game or a subplot in the next Cyberpunk game

@@zer8356 that would be a very bittersweet conclusion to the character, also fitting the theme of no happy endings, but I feel David wouldn't be capable of that without massive manipulation. Adam Smasher really was a special individual, the fact that he had been full borg without any hints of Cyberpsychosis is beyond being a miracle. I feel David was one of many, almost like an NPC meeting the main character.

nah man if they did give us a season 2 they would have to focus on a different cast it wouldn't be a season 2 it would be a part 2(like jojos) if they continue the story that was wraped up nicely it wouldn feel like that amazing ending for the show was fake(like code geass)

I feel like more so. There is something about a piano that can invoke emotion better than lyrics. But without knowing the lyrics, it does not feel as sad. Think of it as an interpretation of the lyrics to the soul.
