The Eagles' collapse was not sudden. It was actually a slow burn. It started when they lost 2 talented coordinators last offseason. They got off to a good start, but they were extremely lucky in many of those first 10 wins. The sole loss to a dysfunctional Jets team should have been alarming, but was shaken off as a fluke. Many fans knew early on that something was off, even at 10-1. There seemed to be an air of overconfidence & arrogance, especially from Sirianni. Little by little, opponents caught on to the Eagles' schemes. The new coordinators failed to make adjustments. The team also got older & slower in key positions. Injuries crept in. The players lost confidence. The result: Gone Fishing.

Best summary of this season. That jets loss had me questioning a lot of things the new coordinators were tryna scheme up, a lot of it just didn't work. Most of those games were won on lucky bounces and talent at key positions but other than that eagles struggled basically all season long. And the tackling on defense is just awful, I've been saying this for years now. As good as it was last yr you could even tell them. Such an embarrassing way to end the season

Man they were the worst team in league to bet on, most inconsistent stats. Typically when the eagles have good records like 10-1 they’ve had really good seasons, making it to the Super Bowl, winning the superbowl, the nfc championship even making it to the divisional round but this year was just such a downward collapse towards the end of the year. Let's just be real, the defense looked like they just didn't want to be there. They let up 30 (not counting the safety) to Baker Mayfield and the 20th-ranked offense and if it wasn't for Tampa Bay getting the dropsies it would've been worse. Such a lack of effort and execution from a defensive standpoint, particularly in the secondary. I know it's easy to scapegoat Matt Patricia, just like it was easy to scapegoat Sean Dasai before that, and Jonathan Gannon before that. Now Sirianni is the fall guy. The conversation Eagles fans don't want to have is that they have a terrible defensive roster, and if you ask me, that's been evident since they crumbled in Seattle.

I coached little league football for many years, the very first thing we start teaching new players and drill over and over again is how to tackle. I don't think I've ever seen as many missed tackles either. Defense wins game, you can't allow that many points and win, even if you have an elite offense. The loss is compounded because that offense didn't show up either though... There was also some poor decisions in regards to play calls that hurt those players psychologically as well though. Should they have been able to bounce back? Maybe but not taking the extra point then giving up the FG were terrible decisions.

Yes this is MUCH worse than the Cowboys loss. Everybody knows Dak sucks, and Dallas is overrated every year, but Eagles were in the Superbowl last year! With EVERYBODY expecting them to get back to the bowl, they definitely had the bigger letdown.

As a Giants fan it was beautiful start to this playoffs to see the cowboys and eagles both get destroyed on consecutive days that was fantastic

I was absolutely one of those people, especially after they had beat the Chiefs and Bills. I overlooked everything that was wrong with the Eagles.
