IMO the Canucks are better off protecting their team chemistry and re-sign Dakota as he's a known asset, middle 6 at worst, maybe even top 6 potential as a legit power forward, following in the footsteps of JT Miller. He's worth a good $3-3.5 mil to keep him, maybe even a bit more if a couple hundred K is all that's separating us from keeping what was the heart and soul player of the team. The Canucks in February, when they had to play a bit over a month without Joshua were barely a playoff team. With him, they were solid playoff team and on the verge of being a contender Keep Joshua, build on that, and improve the team. The big mistake Benning made after 2020 was letting too many players go due to those horrible contracts tying up too much cap space, which killed the team chemistry right up until Alvain and Rutherford fixed it. Don't make the same mistake Benning made and let the heart and soul players like Zedorov and Joshua go.
I think thats up to Joshua if he wants to re-sign in Vancouver for 3-3.5. I think personally, a trigger happy GM will fall in love with his game and offer north of 4
@@mttzakr23 Even at $4 mil, he's a better choice by far then Mikheyev, and still less costly on top of that. Let's put it this way, if I had to chose between Dakota Joshua at $4.75 mil AAV or Ilya Mikheyev at $4.75 AAV, Joshua wins every time.
@@Seriously_Unserious I agree. I’m a Sabres fan and I want Joshua badly, but no matter where he goes his market right now is insane. He has around 15 or more teams that will want him because of that playing style. The canucks absolutely should re-sign him, he’s a stud.
I think Max Comtois would be a player to jump on.. He shows signs of being a good player..Not bad if he turns out to be as good or better than Bertuzzi.. In a way I think he could be like Boeser. A load on his shoulders. Upon that load being lightened he can play his game. With the expertise of the coaching staff.. Would be a cheap contract.. Could look good on this team. Roll the dice.
100%, he was a 1 man disaster against us! Zadorov being a pylon in front of the net when Miller blasted one for a definite goal to tie game 7 with 10 seconds left was just mind boggling as well. If u watch that, Zadorov wasn't even paying attention, just leaning on his stick doing his grocery list.
the vancouver penguins, it's getting ridiculous at this point lol jagger is mean af , he started the season as a 4th liner ended it as a 1st liner, he's good tbh
Idk why were so hung up on finding the next Joshua. We’re just increasing his value saying that. We don’t need to find the next Joshua, there are tons of players out there just like that. Maybe what need to find are players who want to play in Vancouver and stay here, especially after we turned their career around. Burrows, Bieksa, Tanev, Linden, Sedin type players

As long as Cole is “made to walk the plank” I’m okay with the off season
