my takeaway is that the animations for running dont matter at all outside of acceleration type, just make the game prettier which isn't really necessary cuz the main issues with past games have been player interactions on pitch and defenders getting raw ends of tackles is a huge part of that. All I heard about defending in this is that the big name players have an EXTRA advantage in their tackle animations that make this game even more PTW than it was. The disparity between players at the beginning of this game is gonna be bigger than ever. Players with VVD will just have a built-in advantage over those playing with, say, Harry Maguire. Not exactly convincing me that this game is gonna be any kind of improvement. Obv just an opinion, but a lot of this just seemed like flashy new tech that doesn't address the issues that players of FIFA games have had for YEARS now.
Couldn't agree more, defending is the proper hell in this game, too much rng and if we just take a wrong tackle the attacker get past and get in front of the goalkeeper without any chance to recover, fast players have always been on advantage even having poor others attacking attributes :/

Hoping they have a more realistic approach for the gameplay, and if they do, PLEASE do not cater to the Pro’s who cry about the game being “too slow.” Fifa’s 22 gameplay when it first released before the patches was so much better than what it is now.

Yea that's true, but remember that everyone plays with 99 pace and 99 dribbling so obviously it makes the game feel faster and quicker.

You are mistaken, maguire's skill is the "no look, no defending" or in other words "standing still"
one thing i would like is for standing tackles if your player gets tackled it would be better if they don't just stay on the ground for a second or two. change the time they stay down to be accurate to the tackle because as a soccer player myself i know that if i get the ball stolen from me i don't freeze for any time.

The real question for defending is, if I do a standing tackle will I actually get the ball or will the rng let the ball bounce back to my opponent
Oh my god THIS. FIFA 22 does not reward you for making an excellent tackle like 75% of the time. The ball just bounces back to the other team’s player. It’s so annoying.
Exactly, in Fifa 22 it’s like I was being punished for doing a good standing tackle because the ball would just have these unrealistic physics and bounce back to the opponent

If EA just look around the quality of FIFA 17 Gameplay and work around that, the game would be very good
I hope that in FIFA 23 we can finally alternate the shorts and socks, so they don’t match with our rivals, just like teams do in real life. I don’t think that’s such a hard thing to do and adds a lot of realism.

The one problem ie had with fifa like many is the realism, I want the players to move like a team, defend like a team, have play styles like thier real counterparts. I don't wanna see Norwich playing like Man City when in career mode unless I'm managing so called Norwich and I can control as a manager how they play. I wanna see teams sit back if they're well outmatched and use counter attack, I wanna see good teams squeeze opposition and needing moments of brilliance to beat a defence, close games, blowout games. I want feel that immersion. I don't wanna be passing it around in the box like 22, thay should be outside the box. I don't wanna see the striker 10 miles behind the defense and getting further away. It should get closer as the striker slows for his strike. Player faces also annoy me especially in the teams that should hae all faces. Being an Arsenal fan it's very hard to play with my team and seeing the unrealistic looks eventually replacing players who actually have faces. Slow the gameplay. This isn't ping pong. But mostly the positioning. Players rarely in top level leagues have time on the ball unless it's the centre backs usually.
also i would love if they added var cutscenes that could be skipped if we wanted to, and more confrontations and "fights" when a bad tackle happens or something to make the game more immersive
@@lamentspace sounds like a great addition to add realistic elements, like for me ultimate team is okay and that I just want a football game where you can just fantasise different futures of clubs and have fun with making an actual cool career as a manager going forward.

Aside from the gameplay part in particular what I am really hoping to see in FIFA 23 is A LOT of face scans so players have real faces in-game, especially the young talents and players from the top 6 leagues.

Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga Portugal ? I think you could have said "the top 7 leagues" including the Eredivisie. There are some pretty good teams in this league and they also deserve to be in this top. We also need the scoreboards for Serie A, La Liga Portugal and the Eredivisie.
Honestly. I still don’t understand EA’s beef with Benzema and Rakitić. Those men haven’t had a scan in ages.

At 0:17 Spurs’ backline is dropped way too much. This was also an issue in FIFA22 where the defensive line went back too much very close to the goal, which was not realistic and allowed easy cutbacks to players coming from midfield. I hope you can change this until release. I also hope the defenders position themselves realisticly when you try to build up from goal kicks. Other than that, the features look very promosing so far! @EA SPORTS FIFA

EA: here's a new slide tackle which makes the ball bounce even further back to your opponent than before!
I was deflated when he said it makes the ball go further away. I’ve had many rage moments when you make tackle after tackle and the ball somehow bounces straight back to the other team. We might aswell have not tackled at all.
EA: Weve given mbappe even more animations to make sure hes in everyones team again this year

Something I still want in FIFA is African National Teams, African clubs, and African competitions because there are clubs and competitions from all around the world except Africa and I think it'd be really cool to play with my national team and my hometown club. There is something else I would like to have in FIFA 23. There are a lot of competitions without their custom scoreboards. Only the top 5 leagues, and UEFA club competitions have their original scoreboard.

Why hasn't EA Sports FIFA made it possible for teams to use 23 players like in real life in matches, why do they only call 18 players? 11 starters and 7 substitutes.
They should implement this change in FIFA 23 as there is still time. In FIFA 23, 23 players summoned to have greater breadth in the squads
I'd really like them to tone down the skills, I don't mind using skills but these people who do like 10 skill moves in a row or skill cancels just seems unrealistic and ruins the game for me but I know it would never happen because the higher tier players use it the most

Can't wait to see the defenders avoiding to tackle fast players at the Pro Club, the goalkeepers blocking super powerful shots on the top corner but failing on weak shots that look like passes, and I can't wait to see players at the Pro Club constantly asking for the ball, just dribbling, never passing the ball or, even better, scoring own goals without being reported and removed from the match.

FIFA 23 has so many "new" features like slide tackles, fake shots and jokying attackers, never seen before. Its worth every penny of the $60.
@@pavmar5197 yeah, they do that every year. They pick a normal thing that is already in the game, give it a new cool catchy name and market it as a new feature. "This year we have the new ultra cools super mega flair passing system 5.0 What is does is, you press the pass button and our engine uses the quantum machine learning subatomic parallax matrix system to choose the best pass out of 16 quintillion animations that are new in the game" And then you play the game and it's exactly the same.

That’s not gonna happen because they keep listening to the pro players who whine about how different the game is at the start and so EA patches the game to be exactly like the year before
There’s one thing that bugged me throughout the FIFA franchise. The speed of the skill moves. When it comes to skills moves no matter how fast, how agile or how high their dribbling is, they all move at the same pace. Depending on the attributes like agility, pace, ball control and dribbling, the player executing a skill move needs to be quicker. If a player isn’t that skilful nor has lower attributes in pace, agility, ball control and dribbling then the speed of the skill move executed should be slower. For example in real life, some players do step overs or feints quicker and some slower.
this is absolutely not true lma0. Go on fifa right now and do a spin with 5 star skill move Ziyech or someone and then go do it with Henderson. You will see completely different speed in the move
@@kennyo0079 That’s because it’s Henderson. 😂😂 The speed of the step overs and body feints are still the same with every player. Some skills differ though but they need to work on them more.
I think FIFA could do with less skills (I mean that is what Volta is for anyway) to improve the game and focus more on the tactical aspect and no I don't mean spamming "constant pressure" for 90 minutes... but it would be great if we had "real" control of our team and their movement on and off the ball without AI dictating everything. The skill gap has been reduced to 0 in recent years. Every game now is random. People just spam certain attack patterns. The game play is predictable, lazy and oh so frustrating.
They should totally revamp the skill moves to random chance. All pro footballers can do most of the tricks even goalkeepers but being able to pull it off in a match and link one after enough is rarely seen. Players like Neymar should be able to not only do skill moves with less risk of losing the ball but also link two or three move in a chain. The more moves you combine the riskier the play.

The tackling (defending) in FIFA during the 2000s might have been unrealistic when the ball would stick to your foot after you tackle BUT at least it wouldn’t bounce back to your opponent constantly !

To be honest we all complain a lot about the gameplay, but all we really want is a game that fully embodies the beautiful game of football and I hope this one really takes a big step towards that.

wow, game of 2023 with gameplay from 2010 this is so cool, this game has tackles unbelievable i'm so happy, and the animation of the goalkeeper gloves adds realism adorable.
You sure the gameplay is from 2010 ? that's like two generations ago. mayb you can spot gameplay difference after every 4 to 5 years. offcourse there is not much of an upgrade every year. but 2010 is an exaggeration.

This isn't the last FIFA, this is the last game from EA which will have "FIFA" as it's name. EA will keep on making these games, but under a different name..

It all looks pretty good and they did a great job on bringing more realism to the game with the new hypermotion animations and stuff. The goalkeepers gloves and defenders feet moving when the ball deflects I’m not so convinced about. It looks good but I’m just waiting for the ball to go through the leg and hands and arms all the time.
Actually looking forward to this 2 things I'm hoping to see is defenders actually tackling instead of constantly backing off and the Ai crossing into the box.

I do like the quicker acceleration for slower players. Even slow players have quick movements and turning most of the time. Hopefully people like Kroos will be able to dominate midfield now.

yh one of the best parts for sure ...... I still want modern football tactics like football manager level and most importantly modern day gameplay like Liverpool and man city inward crosses ..........having players play out of position like trent arnold for Liverpool

Lets hppe its not all about pace and skill moves so you can really use players like Benzema, Kroos, Thiago, ... Hopefully headers and corners will be more effective than last year.
with the pace and dribbling added in this fifa , the defending is going to be so hard this year . i wonder why they dont make it realistic attacking
So true, like i never saw anyone using Thomas Muller but actually Muller makes really unique run...Skill moves have been too OP to let people ignored the real beautiful things of football
yeah…wont happen. ppl have been asking for this for years and theyve only made slower players more and more unusable.
Volta should be about skill moves though.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a realistic football simulation, but it's a video game there has to be elements of fun too.

Fifa 23 needs
-better Heading
-speedster matter
-passing
-defending
-when you steal the ball it doesn't go back to the other team 10× until they score.
-lobs L1 triangle where the ball doesn't stay in the air for 5mins until the defender catches up to you.
- dribbling doesn't always get stopped.
-passing/ crossing that goes around the defender not always have to hit them.
- let us choose if we want to update to new patch because patches always runins the game and feels like you are playing last year fifa
