- THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST: AN ATHONITE CATECHISM
Join us for the Q&A after this lesson: • Q & A - 1: The Mystery...
Come and sit at the feet of the professors of the Desert, those initiated into the Mystery. They will guide us through the entirety of the Economy of Salvation, from the pre-existence of the Logos, to His Revelation and Incarnation, and His Elevation and Session at the Right Hand of the Father.
Presenting, examining and explaining the book: Τὸ Μυστήριον τοῦ Χριστοῦ (The Mystery of Christ), written by the Cell of the Resurrection on Mount Athos, this lecture series aims to bring the Athonite catechism to English speakers for the first time.
Join me, Fr. Peter Heers, your translator and guide, on this journey of exploring the breadth, and length, and depth, and height of the love of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, that we might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Thursdays at 5PM Pacific, 8PM Eastern across The Orthodox Ethos platform, including RUclips, Instagram, Crowdcast, Rumble, Facebook, X and orthodoxethos.com, followed by a member's only live Q&A. (The Q&A will take place 10 minutes after the completion of the lesson, and will go live as a separate livestream for members.)
We await you, to become together initiates in The Mystery, the Mystery of Christ.

How many Lessons will this be total?
Thank you father. Την ευχη σας! Looking forward to it, even if I am a cradle Greek Orthodox Christian. When this entire series is recorded, please do another series on Orthodox Christian Female monasteries. Not from a feminist point of view, but for where women who are interested in the true devotion to God can find it, in Greece and outside Greece as established by the Orthodox Christian Elders, Fathers.
I'd love to learn more on that subject too.@miastupid7911
As a orthodox christian ☦️ convert from islam with My family and many family friends.
All Muslims will see the truth like we did.
Bless you ☦️☝️
Have a great day.
Thank you Father .. with Gods grace I met Elder Ephram .. and had two confession sessions with him .. truly never experienced a more Holy moment with any other human being .. I feel so blessed 🙏✝️
I'm starting to become obsessed with this channel
I'm Irish and thank God for what He has preserved here in Mt Athos. He gave this honour to us Irish til theology began to be currupted..... I'm very new to orthodoxy and knowledge of mount athos. It's very encouraging to hear of this. It's almost like mount athos took over when the Irish church failed.... St Paisios pray for Ireland. Lord have mercy on us Irish.
Thank you Father.
You can thank Henry VIII and the English Reformation for the loss of monasticism in Ireland, around a half millennium after the founding of Athos.
@@kais.1684 as far as I know the decay began earlier...
Saint Patrick was Orthodox as he lived during the 5th century and before the schism in 1054, which means the early 11th century. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, he is regarded as equal-to-the-apostles and Enlightener of Ireland. The only name that Patrick uses for himself in his own writings is Pātricius [paːˈtrɪ.ki.ʊs] Πατρικιος which gives Old Irish: Pátraic [ˈpˠaːd̪ˠɾˠəɟ] and Irish: Pádraig ([ˈpˠaːd̪ˠɾˠəɟ] or [ˈpˠɑːɾˠɪɟ]); English Patrick; Scottish Gaelic: Pàdraig; Welsh: Padrig; Cornish: Petroc.
Etymology: πατρίκιος
@@miastupid7911 Christians of that time referred to themselves as Catholic
@@miastupid7911 1054 Was not the date of the schism, that's merely a convenient if very inaccurate arbitrary shorthand
Father Peter, May our Lord Jesus Christ bless your ministry and spiritual family. How I love your Orthodox zeal and passion for the patristic fathers.I pray that our paths cross now or in Christ’s eternal kingdom through his mercy. I am based near Thessaloniki and would love to break bread with you if possible.
❤️⛪️🙏☦️ THANK YOU ☦️🙏🕊️🌟
Glory to Jesus Christ 🌹☦️

Where can I buy the Greek version of the book?
Hi how can I buy the book?
You can't -- yet. It is being translated by Fr. Peter AS WE GO and at the end of the entire course it will be published.

This is crazy too me. Somehow the West managed to embrace Christianity whilst also rejecting it for upwards of a 1000 yrs.
Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, and all the mystics in between writing wise all stem from the original source Christ.
It's obvious it's true, not even arguable when you take in all accounts. Being Christian, Pagan, Jewish, and even Stoic or the philosophers of Greece takes all of this into account through separate accounts.
The beauty of this is incredible if the West understood this in a simple way basically cliff notes for Orthodox history major points, it would totally change the West.
The reasons we do what we do stems directly from the lack of understanding of the Church and it's original teachings.
But it's obviously not common in the West primarily because of the pope.
Then all of the extrapolations of the distortion he actually created.
Incredibly interesting

F. Names and Christological titles f. The Son of Man. Always wondered what is the deeper meaning behind that title.

It was UKRANIAN monastery established before 1148. To be short and restrain from detailed explanation of moscow manipulations. Dear Fr. Peter, please, add notes about the names Rus and Russian before 1700 in your book.
Guess who has rooted his mindset in Ancient Greek philosophy too ... 🤔
Is it Arnold Schwarzenegger? I love these games.
@@stalkek And I love intellegent and willing playmates like yourself. Systematic gymnastics and fitness are indeed characteristically Ancient Greek. A good possible answer.
Saint Paul?
@@ryrocks9487 Bada bing bada bang bada bing bang boo. Yes, Paul of Tarsus among others is very Hellenic in his thinking also. A very valid answer. Well done.
