I like the keyless entry but I do like insert the key and turn the car on, well done man, I like your explain, you let me know even with entry and drive, I still can insert my key and drive. Wow, this makes me fell more connect between key and the car.
The 992 has a faux key permanently in the dash (basically a knob you turn) so it’s a bit more “analogue” than a button. My X5 has a button and I’ve never been bothered by that but when I get in the 911 I do like feeling if firing that thing up by turning the “key”. It’s tactile.
We would recommend purchasing a vehicle with Porsche Entry & Drive optioned on the car, as it would be cheaper than trying to retrofit it to your existing vehicle, Thank you for watching!
We recommend taking your car to a local Porsche Centre to have the problem diagnosed. Here are some fixes from Rennlist: rennlist.com/forums/991/1219513-keyless-entry-problem.html
@@OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary I know the refresh 25’ Porsche 911 has it but I wonder why it took Porsche so long to add that feature where there competitors hand that feature as early as mid 2010s
@@infamouseli92 They introduced the turn dial or key insert with the 991 generation. I guess the weight savings wasn't enough to justify going to a button system until the new generations.
Does anyone know how to marry the key fob to the memory setting on our 2023 Cayenne. The numbers work fine, but is there a way to make the change to seats when the unlock button is pressed on the keyfob?

cyrxxx fuun What? I’d always choose manual start rather than keyless. I don’t want to think about where I put my car keys because otherwise it gets hacked if I’m having a keyless car.
@@cyrusfu Yeah, but this is Porsche. My wife's Kia Sportage has folding mirrors as standard; on my 992 I had to pay for it. Wing mirrors same colour as the paint? Got to pay for it. Keyless entry? Same again (...and standard on the Kia). If you're going to by a porker you've already accepted you're going to get hit by the Porsche Tax..... It is ridiculous though. @@SeaOfMadness With the Kia, folded mirrors are standard. With the Porsche brand, having suspension, brakes, wheels, and motors that can survive the race track is standard. @@OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary Thanks. Hard to believe Porsche is still stuck on the idea of turning a key. I get the left-side placement--saved wiring at one time. But now the push-button is so advantageous.
Porsche and racing history go hand in hand. Hence why Porsche still puts its key on the left-hand side. Porsche does not put its key on the left to save wiring, it does this as a part of its Philosophy. One that dates back to when Porsche originally raced Le Mans. As history states it and the reason Porsche does this. To give its driver an advantage on running starts (Literally when the driver had to run across the track to their car). As the driver hopped in, they could start the car with one hand while also putting into gear with the other. Thanks for clearing that out I’ve been looking for an answer
Hi Colton,
Nice video thanks. Is this something I can add (easily) to my 2012 Cayenne S ???

Thank you!!! Can you do it on the new 911 992? How is it presented with and without the Entry option?
Will see what we can do!
I have a 2018 Carrera S. One key - the Entry & Drive works. The other key when inside - the dash states "Key Not Detected". The Fob battery is new.

I wonder why Porsche never have a push to start 🤔
We now have it on the Taycan and the new Cayenne models, Thank you for watching.

The main question is!!! Can a thief still your porsche if he doesn't have your key fob???
We have not had any reports, Thank you for watching!
no. it will just say invalid key.
this type key nice! :)
Can i install that on Porsche Macan 2015?
We would recommend finding a vehicle with it optioned already so you don't void your warranty. Thank You for watching!

So it’s actually same as keyless
Except that turning a key is a longer process than pushing a button.
Tim MacKinnon This function needs to be default anyway, it doesn’t make sense that customers have to pay for this. Come on it’s 2020
