- Alexander Toradze playing the precipitato finale of Prokofiev's Piano Sonata no. 7, op. 83, live as an encore. I thought this would complement the already uploaded videos of Toradze teaching the sonata.
Александр Торадзе - Прокофьев Соната 7
When I was attending U of Miami Fla in '77 I had the opportunity to attend a recital of his on campus. He performed this sonata and at the end the auditorium exploded. It was amazing. He looks like he could pound nails in with those hands.
This is a stupendous performance. He has subtleties in it that no one else has even thought of. small crescendos and stuff. Unbelievable!
absolutely amazing, since i heard his recording of shostakovichs piano concerti i have nothing but admiration for this great musician.
+pianomarius have a listen to his incredible performance (video) of Prokofiev's PC 3 from a few days ago (starts at 15 minutes) - meloman.ru/concert/125-let-so-dnya-rozhdeniya-sergeya-prokofeva-23-04-2016/#webcast
this is the best music ever!!!
I like the steadiness of the tempo with the appropriate accents. This really helps complement the "troop marching" affekt of the first movement.
Eccezionale, formidabile e chiarissimo sempre!!!
Making sense of this musically......

The look on the violinist's face as Alex takes a bow says it all

すげーーーーーっ!
WOW.
FANTASTIQUE..!!
Finally someone playing this at a good tempo!!! People RUIN this all the time.
Wow.
To me this is real Prokofiev. I adore Toradze's performance but I love Martha's interpretation. Argerich touched me personally. But still I adore Toradze's vision.
He plays like a jazz pianist. That's why it's good!
Precisely!

Great, now we know you can play every note, let's add some pedal
Why add pedal? All the nuances would be lost.
This isn't Chopin, the dryness fits the music.
Тяжело и Однообразно!
What a mess, especially at the end
You could never, be in your place Mr. Nobody
