Brilliant guys, Barbell Medicine. Many claim to support their social media claims with science, but these guys actually *make it*. Glad you're associated with them Alan.
Infelizmente, maioria no Brasil ainda "se acham o máximo" por conhecer o Rippetoe... BBM com Thrall é o verdadeiro séc XXI em weight training, lato senso.
@Jordan but the language is limited in it's scope... "works smarter not harder" is lopsided as opposed to "work smart and hard" gives a sense of balance... not sure how much manual labor you've done in your life but people tend to hide behind the former instead of embracing the fact that sometimes you've got to use shear power and brute force to get something done... in other words they're afraid of getting their hands dirty... so I encourage the latter as a way of opening the mind to all possibilities
@Jordan I'm pointing out a far more intellegent and effective way to communicate the same point especially when dealing with those lazy people... that was my whole point in the last comment. People (lazy goons) will use it as a copout so I've learned that saying it the other way gets it through to them better... that's the difference between me and you I think. I want to teach and lead people to be better as opposed to boss people around and complain when they are lazy goons
@Jordan think of what I'm saying as a way of encouraging good behavior in contrast to "work smarter not harder" as a way of discouraging bad behavior. "Work smart and hard" empowers someone to rise to the occasion instead of just demeaning them which is pathetically the norm in the manual labor business. EDIT: Thinking big and seeing the big picture is the leadership quality of the right brain as is morality and creativity. The logical left brain is not all there is. You need to empower people to see them grow
Mad respect for Jordan for not backing down about usapl and trans competitors!! Even for a fun little lightening round on RUclips you know Jordan isn’t gonna say anything he doesn’t believe. Idk. What you should do is flex your triceps & let the bar sit low in your hand & use your fingers as hooks rather than high in the palm. If you're flexing your triceps, you can't engage your biceps & bend your arms. If the bar sits low in your hand as I described, if you bend your arms or hitch, you'll probably drop the bar. It also reduces the range of motion & reduces the moment arm between your hips & the bar.
Hey Alan, could you please explain us why some powerlifters and strongmen choose to amount notorious layers of fat upon themselves? It helps with the strenght development or with muscular maintenance? Thanks!

Alan Thrall is a type of guy who uses his beard to pull his PR deadlift.
Alan goes above and beyond. The guy is a dude. Tom looks like richard from 'dead mans shoes' an awesome film.
What did Jordan say at 5:22 about Triceps to lock his elbow? I'm having a hard time locking my elbows during deadlifts.
He said flex your arm and lock your elbow
Think it was 'show me your triceps'; cuing the guy to straighten his arm I guess
