Next Up for Top Rank Boxing, WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev now has a date to defend his crown. After recent dental surgery forced Beterbiev to postpone his Aug. 19 title defense against former world champion Callum Smith, the two will now meet Saturday, Jan. 13 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.
Beterbiev vs Smith and the co-feature will be televised live on ESPN. Undercard action will stream exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

Boxing is the only sport that regressed, especially in the heavyweight division. These monsters in the 60’s -90’s were another level of skills, ferocity and toughness .

As I was reading about some of Mike Tyson's more obscure opponents recently, Bruce Seldon's name showed up. Newspapers reported that after this fight, Riddick Bowe wanted to offer Tyson $100K to knock out Seldon faster than he did; Tyson declined to take the bet, and the fight was postponed from the Fourth of July to September.
I can't believe Seldon managed to beat Tony Tucker after this. 😂

Riddick Bowe could’ve been a top three greatest heavyweight boxer of all times had he stayed discipline, in shape, and developed a straight right like his adversary Lennox Lewis.
I seen Bruce Seldon Sparring Ray Mercer like 10 years ago. I thought it was pretty cool.

It annoys me that Bowe is never spoken about when people talk about the greats. My favourite heavyweight fighter ever. Great jab, great footwok , good chin and great power. Bowe beat Bowe in the end but if he had a better manager around him he would have dominated this division
This guy Seldon could have been in a Rocky movie. He acts out the knockdown better than any of the actors in the Rocky movies. Tyson didn't even touch him, and he acted like he got hit with a sleigh hammer in their fight. Look how he acts when Bowe hits him and the way he gets up, and the second knockdown looks like a real Rocky movie acting like he didn't know where he was. 😅
He definitely was acting here. Was hurt but not knocked out. He almost did the same against ribilta but decided to get up.

Why do you call him a cocky opponent? He wasn't cocky. Bowe was great and later became a 2 time world champion. Seldon also went on to become a world champion.

Seldon quit here, the way he fell back down was fake as hell. He quit against Tyson too and when he made his comeback he quit again against Gerald Nobles.
