I bought my Toyota Solara convertible new in 2005 and have used it ever since ...I love it - She still runs great (knock on wood)and I still get compliments on her looks...I have a garage and so the top still looks almost new....Like all convertibles she looks best when her top is down.....

Bought a 2005 Solara Convertible SLE V6 from an elderly neighbor a few years ago. Immaculate condition and only had 45,000 miles on it. She gave me a big discount because she was really good friends with my mom. $5000. I feel like I won the lottery. Just an incredible car. Only problem is that the headlights are all foggy. I will try to fix that myself.

This has been one of my dream cars ever since my mom rented one in '08. My husband and I finally got a 2006 Solara SLE Convertible with black paint and a tan top, we bought it in June of 2020. It has been a fantastic car! It had 155k miles when I got it, it is currently approaching 172k miles. The only parts I had to replace were the thermostat and radiator cap, everything else was just maintenance related (brakes, tires, oil and power steering fluid). It has quickly became our favorite car in the fleet, and like our Lexus ES350 (also a Toyota product), we don't have any worries about it letting us down! It just continues to run like new. The car is good in any weather (even snow up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where we live), it stays nicely climate controlled in the summer and winter because the convertible is nicely insulated, the back seat has room for actual adults top up or down, the trunk is large. All around it's just well thought out and surprising, I didn't expect this car to be so practical to live with. The only thing that had a learning curve was figuring out how to see blind spots out of the rear. Once you get to know the size and shape of the car it no longer poses an issue (plus, adding a rearview camera helped a lot)

So happy to hear about your positive experience with the Solara. It snows in the midwest where I live, and the Solara does do well in the snow like you stated. All good points that you mentioned. Thanks for sharing your views and continue to enjoy!

Trust me, you don’t want to Toyota Solara because I have a 2006 model the thing is a piece of shit not worth the time or money to put into my Pinyan and this is my opinion it’s a junk car from the beginning of its life to the end

@@thedannyg9818 you must have a dud, it was genuinely one of the best Toyotas I had owned. 200k miles when sold. Never asked for anything but gas and regular maintenance. The same month you posted this video I bought mine. I live in Georgia and drove to South Carolina to see it one day and I got mine on October 18th, 2020 and it's a Red 2007 Solara SLE Convertible and I love it. Today I just dropped it of at my local Maaco Paint and Body Shop to get the hood repainted for like $283. My solara already had an aftermaket Pionner touchscreen w/bluethooth radiohead with a rearview camera. So far I've added a dual dash cam front and rear/back (about $58 on amazon), a 12" kicker comp sub in a sealed enclosure powered by a dxa125.2 kicker amp (whole package for $190), black floormats(free from my brothers job's), new goodyear tires, I plasti-dipped the rims in black, and I'm about to add LED to light under the hood and in my trunk. I'll get my car back from Maaco in two days and I cant wait to see how my hood's paintjob in going to look like.

@Yadiel Mercedes=Wow, congratulations! You're doing a lot with your Solara. I tried about three different back up cameras on mine. Two were wireless and one was wired. All three failed to work after about one month of use. I was really disappointed especially with the good reviews that they had on Amazon. I took mine to Auto Beauty Center to touch up the paint chips on the hood and scratches and to do an enhancement on the paint as well as restore the head-lights. So glad I did. I recently purchased a bluetooth device that you plug into the 12 volt and it works great. Continue to enjoy your Solara and all the great things that you did to it!

I bought 06 red Toyota Solara September 2019 $2500 plus tax and other crap totaled $2800. it had 117k miles, now its has 131k Its 2021 and still runs good, i have driven this car from Florida to other states and back no issues. i have only changed tires, oil changes, and maintenance the only thing i have to do is fix the left tail light and rear bumper damage. I was hit by a reckless teenager driving a 2018 Hyundai the whole front on the her car was totally damaged (lol) sadly i didn't have total car coverage so that was my biggest mistake, now i have full coverage Other than that a very reliable car.

I'm really interested in purchasing a Toyota Solara The convertible is very nice I live in Florida so it would be used a lot The biggest problem with convertibles especially the Solara Roof leaks at the back of the convertible there's a rubber rubber waterproofing construction that's no longer available When the roof leaks The whole car gets wet in the backseat Then you have to deal with dangerous mold The Solara SLE has a sunroof and that roof is not going to leak It's also quieter going down the road I'd only get it with the 3.3 motor because 0 to 60 times are in the mid 6 seconds That should be enough to keep up with traffic The low mileage ones That I've seen are out-of-state How do you buy a car like that without getting it checked out Extended warranties Reading some of the reviews from customers that have extended warranties aren't worth the paper that they're written on

Five things that I like about my 2006 Toyota Solara V-6 SLE - 1. It is a Toyota in near perfect condition, so little maintenance is needed, 2. it is a convertible, 3. The color, light blue with a tan top and very light tan leather interior, 4. The car cost 35k in 2005, I paid 10k for it from the 2nd owner in 2017, 5. It had 10k miles on it when I bought it. Now it has 20k miles. And a bonus number 6, it is a chick magnate.
