  • A common issue with older IS300's is that you might have a number of dash lights showing up. This video covers a simple fix for the headlight leveling system and specifically the rear sensor. The headlight auto-leveling system has 2 sensors on the front and rear that control the angle that the headlights will tilt. When servicing the suspension, it is pretty easy to connect the rear sensor incorrectly.
    This video takes you through a quick fix of repositioning the sensor so the light goes away. It also shows you how you can move the mount to adjust for lowered cars so that your headlights don't aim too high or low.
    Our 2002 has a lot of problems. When we fix things we will post up how we did it. Subscribe to our channel for more tips and install vids.

    It's been about a year since I last looked into fixing that. ANOTHER headache figs engineering has helped me out with 👌🗽🍻

    It worked for me. I have a 2004 IS 300. But on my case the light turned on because I installed new shocks and struts. However I have to manually adjust the headlights because were not aligned and one was pointing way too high.

    My 2001 ES300 had the same problem with the suspension arm being bent out of shape. It should have been in the shape of a 7, but was in the shape of an L. Once reshaped, the auto-leveling function began working again and the auto-leveling dash-light turned off.

      It could be the sensor then or make sure that the front sensor is also plugged in and functional.

      no time to work on it with such a small shop we are pretty overloaded. There are things we are working on, just no time to edit longer feature videos, compose music, animate titles etc. So these phone edits suffice for the things we see could help people now.

    I have a 2015 Forester but have the same warning light on. It is intermittent though. After driving the car about 10 - 20 minutes it often goes away. Do you think it might a different problem or the same? Thank you.

    Hi, my 2012 IS 250 has a red triangle warning light on and the messaging says Check Headlight System. Is this the same issue? My car just had a suspension check too.

    when lowered it would obviously push the linkage to the sensor up so what change were you referring to or what orientation should the linkage be in order to send the proper input to the headlights I forget exactly but I’m only lowered about an inch also would the front linkage need to be shortened or adjusted as well in order to not send the incorrect input fyi I have no dash light I’m simply curious due to the fact that I’m overhauling the front suspension as well as installing figs adjustable end links to correct the sway bar angle which led me to the sensor in the front so it made me wonder if that arm would need to be shortened to level the linkage for the sensor in similar fashion to the swaybar due to being lowered sorry for not being short and simple but any advice or information would be greatly appreciated thank you

      It measures yaw, or difference between the front and rear ride height. They first need to be oriented correctly, then adjust the rear, typically down the slot, to get the lights pointed where you want on level ground.

    Can you do one of these video on the tail light indicator after LEDS have been installed.

    • @FIGSEng
      @FIGSEng  4 года назад +1

      Sure Nick, its basically a lack of load in the circuit. but can do.

      Just installed my leds in the back and the indicator came on, how do i fix that?

    • @Brismo7
      @Brismo7 3 года назад

      @@jjsantana1817 You got to cut a wire in the trunk. The light comes on because the voltage has changed due to the LEDs. But the computer thinks the voltage change means a burnt tail light, hence the indicator. So the only option is to cut a wire in the trunk and deny the signal from getting to the gauge cluster.

      @@Brismo7 That is not the way to do it. Use a resistor instead. Philips even sells plug & play kits for it.

    I can’t get my lever or rod back into the hole at all. It’s outside of it and was dangling down. I have completely lossened the bracket but it looks like there is a keyed rod end but I can’t get it back into the sensor housing help

    • @FIGSEng
      @FIGSEng  Год назад

      Remove it completely and slide it into position correctly. It will not want to orient properly just by loosening unfortunately.

    So I did this, and the dash light is gone, but the headlights are still pointed to the ground somewhat. Should I just adjust them the rest of the way up manually?

    • @FIGSEng
      @FIGSEng  3 года назад +1

      The adjustment is done via the slotted connection to the bracket. Loosen and side it down to aim up. You may also need to dust the front links on the front left lower to compensate..or see if it's bent.

    • @FIGSEng
      @FIGSEng  4 года назад

      @@louievuittahn6504 the front is different. its just a single linkage. But if its damaged or the connector is broken, the signal will not make it back to the headlight controller and flag the error.
