Yay! I've been waiting for this one! :) I'm a copyeditor, and you distilled everything I do very well. I am so passionate about copyediting; I could talk about it all day. We have a group of editors here in Utah that meets on a regular basis to talk about editing. It's amazing! Our term for moving from large-scale edits to fine-tooth comb edits is the Editing Funnel, because it goes from large to small. It's not a perfect analogy, but it helps give it a name when you're basically just waving your hands in a V shape while you're trying to explain it. :D
More editing videos always! I'd like to hear about how it was to flip from an editor to an author receiving edits. I think that would break my brain, so I would love tips on gracefully accepting edits as a knowledgeable author.

I'm currently trying to figure out what I want to do. I think I want to be an editor, and I think copy editing is what I want to do. In grade school I wasn't great at grammar. I feel like it wasn't taught well. I'm also not super great at spelling anyways, but that's what dictionaries are for, right? Do you have any tips or suggestions for me? Thanks!

Thanks to this video, I now want to read Fawkes! First time hearing about it! And it really helped me figure out what type of editing I'll probably be most suited for, which is Line and Copy.

Your author info videos are so helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH! It’s so great to hear all this info from someone who is from the author side and has gone through the whole process!

Thanks for this. I'll probably have to refer to this every once in a while as a refresher! I'm currently in a content edit. And it did almost make me cry. Just because I read through the notes all at once and my brain got overwhelmed.

Thank you so much for this video! I've been confused about the different between line-edits and copyedits for a while now, and this finally cleared things up. I also realized that I enjoy line-editing, so I can offer that when I open my editing business soon. :D Thanks so much, Nadine!

I love these videos, thanks Nadine. 🤓🤓I would love to hear more about anything book related to be honest. It would be super interesting to hear exact deadline and timings from start to finish of Fawkes (drafting, on submission, edits, book cover, promotion, etc). Maybe a day in the life (I just love being nosey and vlogs 😝)/ office tour.

Hi Nadine, can you offer both content and technical editing as part of your services or do you focus on just one type of editing?

In your other video, you mentioned editorial review, what is that? Also, I'm looking into what I want to do, I think I want to be an editor. I enjoy editing my friend's papers for class. I think I want to be more of a copy editor. I think very logically and those things always stand out to me even though my grammar and spelling have not always been great. I'll work on my spelling, and I found a love of grammar when I took a class a few semesters ago on it. Any tips for getting into editing?

This was great! It's so helpful to get a refresher on all the different sorts of edits. :D
I call my content edit a 'comprehensive critique', do you think that's a good name or would it be better to just call it a 'content edit'?
