Thank you Kay 💞. After making numerous covers of the previous version, this one is so much better. I do still have a few to do as teacher-gifts, I will give this a try. As always, a really lovely tutorial. Thank you once again ❤
Hi Rita As you dont state how you wanted to add your lettering I have listed both ways. ADDING LETTERING USING YOUR MACHINES BUILT IN FONTS: It just so happens that I already have a video that shows you how to add lettering using built in embroidery machines fonts. I advise using the smallest font size on your machine for projects like this. Bear in mind that not all machines are the same so you may have to refer to your machines user manual for the settings on yours. I cannot give precise instructions for all brands I am afraid. Here is the link. ruclips.net/video/IAVdCa8g7bs/видео.html THE CORRECT WAY TO ADDING LETTERING USING YOUR SOFTWARE: If you want to add text using software you may have, then you will need to create the lettering as a separate stitch file. Make sure that it will fit in the area where you want it on the design, measurements are key to a good fit. Do not open the design stitch file in software and try to add lettering in to it, as it can cause many problems and unexpected results, as per the warnings given in the instructions of all Kreative Kiwi Embroidery designs. If you want to learn more about the complex relationship between a design stitch files and software I have written a short document and you can read about it here: shorturl.at/cEFN3 When you arrive at the place in the design where you want to add your lettering you stop your machine take note of the colour stop number so you can pick up again where you left off after you have added your lettering and come out of the design. Then you load the lettering file that you created into your machine and using the information that you learn in my video link above to centre your needle where you want the text to stitch out (You would load your file at the 6:00 minute timestamp in this video rather than using the built in fonts when you create text in software but the principle is exactly the same for setting it up, then you stitch your lettering and then come out of the file. You then load the design back into your machine and navigate to where you left off and one colour on if there was already lettering in the design and you carry on stitching out the design. I hope this helps you the gnome video it will make it all clear on how to go about it and it also shows how to use metallic threads without fuss too. which is quite handy this time of year. Happy stitching.
What a lovely cover, i add it to my shopping cart but i need your help before purchasing it, as i am Arabic i will hold my notebook the opposite way from right to left. So how can i change the front and back?
Hi Wallaa Ali I suggest that you emailed Heather who is the designer of this notebook and ask if she could add a reversed version to the set for you. This would be far less complicated and efficient than mirroring the design in your machine as you would loose the lettering and monogram as it would also become mirrored. Heather 's email address can be found at the top of the website. I hope this helps you.
Thanks Kay once again for a fantastic tutorial with very clear instructions.
You are very welcome! I am pleased you enjoyed it. Happy stitching

I got these a couple years ago. Do I need to do a new download of everything or is there a file with the changes?
To get the updated files log into your KK account and redownload the design and you will have the updated files and instructions. Happy stitching 😊
How do you change the Initial letter in the circle to the one you want?
There is a file for each letter, just pick the cover with the letter that you want. Happy stitching.
