YOU KNOW WHAT? I LOVE IT!!!🤩🤩🤩
Like every year, best D23 announcements ever!!!
It all started with Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration on January 1st, 2023 as the beginning of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney Company!!!
And then, in Frontierland, the classic Splash Mountain ride had finally been permanently closed for now and make way for a new retheme ride as "Tiana's Bayou Adventure", which is opening next year at Magic Kingdom!!!
And then, in Tomorrowland, a new ride about TRON: Lightcycle/Run at Magic Kingdom and a new retheme store about Tomorrowland Launch Depot!!!
And then, in World Celebration neighborhoods of EPCOT, it seems that 3-level Festival pavilion with the other area had been cancelled to make way for 1-level new festival pavilion about CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, Mickey and Friends, Dreamers Point and World Celebration Gardens, which is opening LATE 2023 and in World Nature neighborhoods of EPCOT, a new attraction about "Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana", which is opening LATE 2023!!!!
And also, in World Discovery neighborhoods of EPCOT, PLAY! Pavilion had been cancelled to make way for a new unnamed pavilion!!! But, on the inside of gold dome, I found and see the blue light inside!!!
And then, World Showcase neighborhoods of EPCOT, a new unnamed Mary Poppins Returns attraction with a new unnamed Teacup spinner ride in United Kingdom Pavilion and a new Wondrous China film in China Pavilion, are both still coming to EPCOT? Because a shopping space and performance space will be closed to retheme to a new unnamed Mary Poppins Returns attraction in United Kingdom Pavilion!!!
And in World Celebration neighborhoods of EPCOT, Spaceship Earth: Our Shared Story with a new narrator as Amy Adams, new story light and a new updated scenes, are still coming to EPCOT?
And then, in Toy Story Land, a new restaurant about Roundup BBQ Restaurant are now open at Disney's Hollywood Studios!!!
And after that, Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary GRAND FINALE celebration has finally come to an end for NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!
Then, on April 2, Disney Enchantment and Harmonious are both come to an end and the Return of old favorites, Happily Ever After in Cinderella Castle and Main Street U.S.A. and EPCOT Forever in World Showcase lagoon at EPCOT!!!
And after that, ANOTHER new unnamed fireworks nighttime spectacular show are coming this year to EPCOT!!
Then, Big Hero 6 will be retheme to Pacific Wharf and became San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure!!!!
Then, a new Avengers Quinjet ride had been cancelled to make way for a new unnamed Avengers Multiverse ride in Avengers Campus and in Stark Expo, which is coming to Disney California Adventure and Hong Kong Disneyland!!!!
And a new land about City of Zootopia attraction, which is opening this year at Shanghai Disneyland!!!
And then, a new land about World of Frozen, which is opening this year at Hong Kong Disneyland!!!!
And then, a new land about Fantasy Springs, which is opening next year at Tokyo DisneySea!!!!
And this year, here comes the 25th anniversary celebration of Disney's Animal Kingdom Park!!!
And then, DinoLand, U.S.A. will be extinction and divided into two new land about a new unnamed Zootopia and Moana attraction as City of Zootopia and Oceania at Disney's Animal Kingdom!!!
And then, a new unnamed Coco, Encanto and Disney Villains attraction as Casita Madrigal, Land of Dead and Dark Kingdom, are coming to Magic Kingdom, which is right behind Frontierland!!!
And then, Lighthouse Point and a new ship about Disney Treasure are coming to Disney Cruise Line!!!!!
And now, that was awesome!!!! So, Destination D23 2023 are coming this September at Walt Disney World Resort?
Wow! Basically nothing!
I know! Walk around characters? We knew of water at Epcot, Splash Mtn retheme, and TRON. No new ride announcements. Boo!
"Look a new statue! And a character!". Meanwhile at Epic Universe....
It was pretty underwhelming.

Maybe they're waiting to announce it at Disnetination D next year?
Kinda bitersweet learning about what they might do to Dinoland USA. The Dinosaur ride is one of my favorites.
Especially when the things replacing it have nothing to do with the themes of animal kingdom!
How did you feel about Avatar?
@@themepark101 A lot of the themes of avatar are for respecting the environment and connections to fantasy creatures, which fantasy creatures were seen for the original concept of the park with beastly kingdom and while it is different being IP I feel that fantastical fictional idea has been reached. Unlike zootopia which is telling human stories through animals like Joe Rhode said or Moana that while it shows animals and the ocean it is her story and a Moana land should celebrate the characters like Moana and have animal kingdom stay with the animals and environments.

It's an idea. They confirmed nothing about those lands happening.
Just my opinion but I didn't enjoy either of those movies. I'm sure I'd still enjoy the lands since Disney's been on a roll with really well built and themed areas lately but the stories they'll be based on just aren't that good in my eyes.

Some exciting announcements in there
According to Joe Rhode, Zooptopia would be out of place in Animal Kingdom because they’re metaphors for people. He said this several years ago and it’s disheartening that they came out with this Blue Sky idea for it. I would honestly love to see a Tarzan themed attraction in animal kingdom (maybe something similar to Swiss family treehouse?) The jungle book would also be a good option. Moana doesn’t really feel like a good fit for AK to me…like at all, despite my love for her and the movie. Especially since she’ll already have an attraction in Epcot. A villains themed 5th land or addition would be AMAZING. And makes much more sense for MK over coco and Encanto. Being that culture is so heavily woven into the two films, those additions would make the most sense at Epcot. If I’m not mistaken, Dante and Coco have gold 50th statues at EPCOT?? But side note: why do the lands get cooler attractions and SOLIDIFIED updates than WDWORLD???

Me And My Asian Wife (Maya) Went To The 2022 D23 Expo In Anaheim, California; Where She Grew Up At This Last Weekend.
We belong together was a new show for the new land based on the song from the end credits of toy story 3 of the same name also it was also heard in dream lights at Tokyo Disneyland
I love the idea of the villains part of the park , and being able to meet figment

Nice video! I think that this was the worst d23 in a long time. A few years ago we got galaxies edge, toy story land, and rides like ratatouille adventure, cosmic rewind, the announcement for Tron, after hearing all these kinds of excited news from past d23 expos, I thought this one would be even more exciting since it’s the “100 years of wonder” also hearing that the splash mountain retheme is opening in 2024, feels very long of a wait.

People who live closer to Disneyland, got it better because they are getting a avengers campus ride and a retheme to a land

I agree, boring marvel, boring park stuff, Pixar was kind of boring and Disney animation was decent
And in that context Disneyland Paris gets the shaft again. No new rides in the actual park since 1995's opening of space mountain. Not only that... Tokyo will get a full refurbishment of space mountain but From earth to the moon will likely never return, even though the ride saved the park and its getting rougher each year, even with the new trains. Last time I rode it even stalled on the last lift hill! Disney studios is getting a new land but the second park is still a debacle and the new ride seems to be a clone of Mad Hatter's Teacups. The least said about avengers campus, the better... Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea are the only parks that seem to carry the original "top class entertaiment and quality and theming" of yesteryear, probably because Japan pays from its own pocket and are somewhat more independent

So Animal Kingdom needs Indiana Jones themed land with roller coaster based on a desert themed land, have camels etc… something animal kingdom doesn’t have. You can also incorporate Aladdin. I don’t like Moana redundancy with Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Also zootopia is too modern for animal kingdom, it would have been better for Epcot than Moana. Moana would be better placed in Magic Kingdom Polynesian area, but me personally I think having a Moana special show at the Polynesian resort would be better.

I'm not a fan of Moana or Zootopia in Animal Kingdom. Jungle Book or Tarzan could come to the park tastefully. I understand the properties are a bit old now, but people still like them. If Disney had Lion King and Tarzan/Jungle Book, I think it would be fair for Animal Kingdom. Both have conservation ties, so it's an easy sell. The Jungle Book is in Asia, so the Jungle Book makes the most sense for that space, being across from Everest, it could still be Asia and they could bring India to the park.
Being that Festival of Lion King is incredibly popular still, it'd make sense to bring the Jungle Book to the park. Lion King can also be expanded quite significantly, as it is a hugely popular movie. I honestly am shocked Disney never developed a ride inspired by the Lion King due to its popularity. Nearly every person in AK has some sort of Lion King merchandise on, and the story has long been tied to the park.
The problem with Moana is it belongs in Adventureland. Hawaiian stories belong in MK, as it is fundamentally American storytelling and Adventureland offers that.
Now, I will start with the premise that I love Coco. It is about the best movie they made in a decade IMO. However, the movie quite clearly has roots in Mexican culture. It is inspired by a real holiday and real religion. The close bonds between family members in the movie are mirrored by Mexican culture. Coco actually makes sense for Epcot when you think hard about it. It is about culture, religion, family, and tradition. That's Epcot, not MK!
Encanto is a troubling concept for me. That area of the park looks nothing like the jungles the movie is set in. Once again, if Disney wants Encanto, because it is pure fantasy, it would belong in Adventureland with Moana. It would be tricky to include both properties, but both are very tropical and share Jungle landscapes. It'd be an easier transition on the eye for this to be built in Adventureland. Disney will have to pick one or the other. They won't have the budget for both.
I like the Villains concept. I like the Coco concept. Villains just needs to be behind Fantasyland, and it's fine. When Disney builds these attractions, they have to be aware of setting. Coco/Encanto/Villains does not flow well at all. It will look horrible visually and it will not flow.
What confuses me is why Disney refuses to bring many films from the 90s to life. We just now got Little Mermaid. The Lion King doesn't have a ride. The Nightmare Before Christmas could have a ride. Tarzan can have a ride. Hunchback could. Pocahontas could. Aladdin could have much more than a spinner. Beauty and the Beast can have a lot more done for it. It just gets me a little upset that Disney hasn't brought any Millenial-era films to life other than the Little Mermaid and a spinner for Aladdin.
They essentially just skipped Millenial generation movies and went straight to the modern ones. Whatever I guess.

Because disney is too concerned about getting that checklist off and write it off as "diverse". This was never an issue before until the twitter crowd came into the picture. Not to mention more than half of them don't even have a job

Can’t wait for universal to blow Disney away over next ten years. They just keep disappointing. It will eventually hit theme park attendance. Walt was so good that he built an almost unsinkable ship but these troglodytes will eventually ruin it completely.
Over 4 billion they’ve spent on Marvel and yet we have zero Marvel things at Disney World….smh
How is that possible with the success of all the Marvel movies?? Absolutely mind boggling.
Oh and they need to build a new Park. I mean are they really not going to have an answer for Epic Universe??? They can have a new Park built in under 4 years. They built HS in under three because they were motivated with Universal Studios being built.
