- A one-week walk(run)-about fastpacking journey in the beautiful Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia.
I carried minimalist kit - just a basic bivvy and some dry food - and navigated mainly by sight/compass, as the majority of trails were not marked on the map.
The solitude on this journey was completely remarkable, and gave me so much space to connect with the area.
I picked up a Jenny Tough book on a whim in an airport 2 years ago, and have continually been inspired ever since - from bikepacking to fastpacking to circumambulating and poetry. I love these videos as a reminder that anything is possible. Thank you Jenny!

Great style and some good points in there! It's funny I never think about solitude when I'm in nature, just about my connection to the land and sea, and how I can use it to feed myself and thrive. That's why all my trips have become either fishing or foraging trips and the closer to home the better.
