- On March 25th 2020 the cellist Steven Isserlis gave a concert from his home for children (and their parents) stuck at home due to the Corona virus. In addition to introducing the music and responding to questions posted live, he played music by Bach, Prokofiev, Kabalevsky, Tsintsadse and the traditional Catalan melody ‘Song of the Birds’, arranged for solo cello by Sally Beamish.
It was created in collaboration with Tutti to promote "Creative Skills" - a free website launched to help artists find online work during the Coronavirus quarantine in 2020: bit.ly/2w1WDTo
My goodness that 1st Bourree was extraordinary...so much dynamic. Brilliant.
What a wonderful man.
Your humor is contagious! I love that! 🎻👋👋
Dear Mr Isserlis, I adore your spirit and the joie de vivre with which you play!
I am 70, and have only recently ´discovered’ your recordings. I am so moved by your videos with your music and talks, that I have just booked a ticket to hear your recital with Connie Shih at Verbier in July. Even though it’s a two-hour drive from where I live and I will make the trip there and back in one day, I am so looking forward to hearing you play in person! I’m also thinking of splashing out to return on the Sunday to hear you play with Bell and Kissin, which I’m sure will be amazing!
I'm a musician who loves Laurel and Hardy too. Sadly for me, that's probably the extent of our cello playing similarities. Thank you from someone that fully appreciates the beauty of your playing and the challenge of the music.
15:16 beautiful piece! Steven is a great musician, love his sense of humour. I use his two books with my students 👍🏼👏🏼
what a lovely soul
Thank you Steven for your inspiring story and playing! I have heard you ‘live’ in several concerts and love you or enthusiasm and freedom of expression. I will go and do some practice myself now having been so inspired. Paul (young at heart cellist age 72!)
Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing this!
How absolutely marvelous!
This is wonderful. Thank you.
Beautiful playing, Steven. Thanks for introducing us to a few pieces off the beaten path, so to speak. I'm thrilled to hear this will be a regular event! I will make sure my students know about your performances! Stay well!

Thanks! I remember you playing Chonguri c1996? as an encore at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh- and you got a sale of your cello pieces book out of it, so that was worth it for you too!
Thank you!!!

Sorry, besides all musical aspects: I just don't like this guy's almost transsexual behaviour...
