I came across “Daryl’s House” last year and I binged it and I was hooked. Daryl’s band is so good, and they all really know their stuff. The guests are fabulous and I love seeing and hearing them approach each song in a different light. The shows with Todd Rundgren and with Rob Thomas were for me especially great. The jamming and connections in the shows have such a cool and unique vibe…

Besides seeing and understanding Daryl's visual cues which show how Daryl really cares and appreciates interviewing, there is such a more intimate feel. He's truly a natural and creme de la' creme at everything he does.💌💌💌 Love his Daryl's House concept too, and he's an amazing host. This was an enjoyable, relaxed, in-depth, well done interview. "It's a Laugh" is one of my faves next to "Dreamtime" & hearing Daryl talk at length about various topics, not the redundant pat questions most interviewers give him, was a treat. I also, prefer the more ambience performances, not the large venues where the music is center stage & appreciated. Can't wait for this next leg of tour. And to answer why all ages come to his shows, is that he brings nostalgia & joy when he performs. People need happy & that's the feeling all get when Daryl sings. Glad this podcast finally happened.

Nice video here, lots of information on what the songs mean, good questions !
Phil had dedicated his LIFE to food - so the eating on air is his brand.
The lads could and should set their camera to hold on their SUBJECT, so that when Arif Martin is mentioned here, for example, we get to see Hall's face as he reacts. There is a 'diary' part too, to focus on himself, but a split screen at least, would achieve all goals. Can we get a part two - a few other songs missed, 'your imagination.'
From the 1977 album, "Bigger Than Both of Us" & 'WINGED BULL' the only Zep sounding Hall and Oates song ever made, when Hall was going through a party phase.

It's a great question. I think it probably had to do with disco ending. Very suddenly there was a ton of available real estate on radio for boomers who'd spent the late 70s honing their craft under the radar. Think about all the people in their 30s who hit their commercial peak in the first half of the 80s. Hall and Oates, Springsteen, Mellencamp, Bowie, Sting, Cyndi Lauper, Huey Lewis, Lionel Richie, Phil Collins, Steve Perry, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, etc...

@@scottobrien8814 restraining order is also used for transactional disagreements. Not just criminal or bodily harm. In this case preventing Oates from selling his share of music catalogue.

Back in the day, I used to have a major crush on Daryl Hall. Of course in the future, there would be a new technology called “the internet”, but it didn’t happen yet.
    📌oh btw…I’m addicted to RUclips.
I would say that 99.999% of my internet time is spent on RUclips.
A few years ago I saw a thumbnail with Daryl’s name. Of course he was one of my teenage crush, I clicked on it. He was doing like a talk show kinda thing in what looked like a barn. It was boring. But I gave it more chances. However it didn’t get better & I discovered that Daryl is a major
@$$-hole. His attitude towards himself is very apparent and he doesn’t seem to care about his success in a DUO “band”. The clincher for me was an interview he did. It was through Zoom. I don’t know who the interviewer was or even the channel name.
📌I will usually be working on something while listening to whatever I clicked on. So I don’t always pay attention to the channel etc.
Anyway I had heard him talk about how talented he is (not the exact words but you get my gist). This interview was horrible but opened my eyes (ears) to what kind of person Daryl Hall is. He was telling the interviewer that all of the success that was achieved by Hall & Oats was all due to him. He was not giving John Oats any credit for anything. I was thinking that the interviewer would ask him why he didn’t go out on his own and WHY did he keep working with John, since he didn’t do anything for the duo. But the interviewer never asked either question.
I was so disappointed that Hall is the way he is. He’s been doing it throughout this interview too. He
is a master manipulator. The more interviews I see, the more I cannot believe what a MAJOR JERK-OFF he is. And he hasn’t aged well. He’s got the money…he’s definitely a good candidate to go under the knife
I know, I’m being immature, acting like a child. But I’m so tired of celebrities disappointing me. It started with Cosby…Now this one. I put a lot of money in his pocket. He should at least be civil enough to say something positive about John. I don’t like him anymore and SHAME ON HIM for losing any humbling he might have had.
