Nice to have found this as I purchased the first set of pliers you used probably five years ago and have been using them incorrectly, (which is why I never liked the result) and don't pick them up often. That will certainly change now that you shared this info. Thanks, Mark!
Greetings from Hereford, England. I've been thinking about getting a set of these pliers, as I'd like to take up making some of the wire keychains I keep seeing on RUclips. Those guys have custom bending tools that I've no chance of replicating, but the pliers can do at least 2 of the hardest jobs, and I can create what I need for the rest. Thanks for the video. It's helped me a lot. Cheers 😉👍🏻
I just made my first tension ring and it worked out but the bending was a tough one. I used 8 gauge square wire. Would this handle this thick of a gauge? Thank you
Hi Debbie, Thanks for your question. These Ring Shank-Bending Pliers will work on stock up to 6ga in size. Depending on the size and shape of the sterling silver spoons you select, this tool may work. No, no, no wire cutters. They will leave the ends of the cuts marred from the angle of the cutter. A saw is the way to go. For really thick material a hacksaw will work, but for thin soft materials a jeweler's saw is best.leave those edges nice and clean, then solder the joint. It will look like there was never even a cut to begin with.
You could use it for a size 13 ring. The pliers can be used to get the ends of the wire together for soldering, then it can be completely rounded on a ring mandrel. We hope this is a helpful tip!

Awesome video. Very thorough, straightforward and easily explained. Good for enthusiasts and potential hobbyists to get started with.

so what was the size of the stock??

Can u bend nails with this tool
I guess you used annealed metal.
You didn’t actually achieve a ring. You bent some wire into something that looked half-way to a tiny g. The last part will cause the issue.
Thank you for the feedback.
